All 10 things are so good. I’ve applied only 2 things long time ago, my blood pressure is 110/70 now even I have genetic high blood pressure. - Reduce salt: Just a little bit that our tongue doesn’t feel the difference, after two weeks, you will get 50% less than the salt you used daily. - Walking 45 minutes a day. No more medication needed. ( I’m 74 year old )

I don't use much salt already, and use the redmond, Himalayan, etc. not 'regular' salt. Walking isn't a good option in my area. already to fish oil for many years, all fresh greens almost every day (including spinach, arugala, etc.). Am working on increasing potassium and magnesium - think I am severely depleted on that last one. Don't drink alcohol - VERY sporadically. I like the cold water immersion - Just did it the other day (and it wasn't even extremely cold - my son-in-law does the ice water immersion regularly ) I went in when it was just "cold" and it helped heal things immediately - by the next day.

My husband had a stroke due to Cranial Vascular Disease. Immediately he was prescribed the big three: statin-Blood thinner-BP medication. He was told he would need to be on these for the rest of his life. Then he saw a Neurologist who prescribed Whole Food Plant Based No Salt, Oil or Sugar diet. In three week ALL blood numbers improved dramatically and in three months he was off ALL medications! He lost 35 lbs. I have had a 55 lbs loss and my health has improved dramatically as well! That all started December of 2022. It is not easy but it is simple!

Great video. Anytime my BP creeps above 120/60, my doctor wants to put me on Losartan. I refuse. Our BP fluctuates throughout the day. My average at home is 117/60. What in the world would happen if I went on Losartan? Doctors are just pill happy, imo.

I am a 77 old lady and I found that doing "intermittent fasting" worked amazing for me. It was a bit hard to getting used to not eat any dinner but after a few days I was fine. I did fasting for 18 hours after my lunch till about 8:00 next morning but I ate all what I liked for breakfast and lunch. I lost all surplus weight in less of 2 months about 10 kilos. I am Italian and I love bread and pasta I even ate ice-cream and sweets, not every day, of course. Now I just still do intermittent fasting when I gain 2 or 3 kilos and I wish to get them off....so easy!

My blood pressure wanders around quite a bit, no idea why. But thinking about breathing deeply, I’ve come to realise my giving up playing the saxophone was a mistake. It requires really controlled and deep breathing, especially if you use the higher reed strengths like 4 or 5 which require much more muscle strength. Plus the concentration required and the calming nature of music is of benefit. So I’ll go back to annoying my neighbours and tell them it’s for health reasons.

An important thing I have learnt working in a poor country is that you can learn to fast. I took me about three weeks. In the beginning I suffered stomach pains for about one hour and after three weeks or so only for five to ten minutes, before your metabolism changes to digesting fat. I think there is no way around this tough part in loosing weight. I went from normal weight to slightly under weight. I kept this ability to fast easily since then.

I stay away from alcohol (most of the time)at all costs because I don't like headaches and high blood pressure. I got off blood meds by taking potassium with dr permission. Added bacon to my diet and added small amounts of mineral salt . Eliminated sugar, gluten and started walking . I also am eating more meat . Keto like diet helped me I only lost a few pounds but I’m still trying . I highly recommend the book Salt Fix

Taking fish oil too! Hard to say in what’s working the best but I would say going on a high quality multivitamin and having my vitamins tested to see where I’m borderline so I can add to my supplementation really helped. I’m seeing a functional medicine doctor not only is my blood pressure normal, but my Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is at zero right now. We have the power to make big changes in our health!!!

Because of family history I’ve had cardiovascular disease since my mid 30s. In my mid 40s I discovered a Whole Foods plant-based no oil diet. This diet caused my blood pressure to drop to the point where I didn’t need medication anymore. Then I hit my 50s, and like this channel spoke about, my arteries became more stiff, and the blood pressure went back up. Also, as this channel speaks about I had to start focusing more on cardio exercises and less on weight training and that made a good difference. Personally had to drop alcohol to special occasions only.

New subscriber here! Great info! I'm 66 yo, I've lost 60 pounds ( about 7 more to go) this year by doing clean Keto. And I do IF. I walk about 12-15 miles weekly. I feel GREAT! I DID go back home to Tx for a weekend visit, and we bought my favorite brand of pickles, my bp went up for DAYS! Love magnesium! Thanks for the info. ❤

All of these are great suggestions. Thank you for putting them into a list. I would add getting good sleep as a factor if there are issues with quantity, regularity, or possible apnea. But I have to point out that getting 5 grams of potassium per day is not anywhere as easy for everyone to get as you make it out to be. I eat all whole foods and as a 76-yr-old woman, I'd have to eat far more than my metabolism could handle to get to 5 grams. I struggle to get over 2 grams at times. In fact, that recommended 5 grams is often reduced in recommendations for women, and it takes even more focus as we get older. I challenge your listeners to really track their potassium to see how much food is needed to get to 5 grams. It's not "nothing" for many of us. Having said that, I have increased my potassium relative to previous years, lost weight, exercise just a bit more, and a few other measures, and my blood pressure has gone down considerably.

Many other experts I follow explain that controlling insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia are very relevant in lowering blood pressure. I would start there if I was providing suggestions on lowering blood pressure. One way to test insulin is with a fasting insulin blood test. An optimal result would be around 5 uIU/mL.

My cardiologist doesn't recommend eating spinach as it tends to make the blood prone to stickiness and so can for some lead to clots. Your diet and weight loss are the most important elements to hone in on.

I don’t think SALT is the problem at least not solely it. I love salt in all my food and eat salty but I use ONLY sea salt, Himalayan or Celtic. I use only organic coconut for all cooking and extra virgin olive oil for salads, green smoothies with some fruit and anti-inflammatory teas.

I am working on lowering my blood pressure naturally. I used to take a statin but I got off of it by eating salmon and oatmeal. So this morning, I made a smoothie from canned beets, grapefruit juice, a banana, and a little extra stevia. Sometimes I cook frozen spinach so it will blend easier and use that in my smoothies also. I love spinach and beets.

refined salt is the enemy. if you consume unrefined salt, that is a total game changer. Unrefined salt has minerals, example is Real Salt, Celtic salt. Do not consume any salt that is PURE WHITE, that's the easiest way to tell it's been refined.

In just a week of focusing on potassium high foods, and mag at night for relaxation, add no salt except what is in a garlic butter I use on potatoes, and red lentil flour noodles, I don’t drink any alcohol, I am under weight at 5’5’ 105# but small boned. Blood work is the best my doctor as ever seen and told me gaining muscle mass will in prove my BP. He was shocked how my BP go from very high to too low on BP meds. Even extended release maximum dose had no effect. I meditate daily but adjusting to a new climate that I have never lived in. But I am already seeing go results with out the meds. I have never had a kidney stone so will see in a month or so. Just took my BP after a bowl of cooked black eyed pea soup with onion, garlic butter and a 5 minute walk to the store: 126/83 pulse 74 and I gain 2 pounds this week. Fruit for breakfast and apples with all natural peanut butter with sugar, oil or salt added. I’d add salad if I wanted to not gain weight. No processed foods like grains in my diet. Which make it hard to gain weight. THANK YOU DOC!!

I actually learned how to reintroduce salt into my body after abstaining for six years. Barbara O'Neal showed me this. I had to drink water with just a few Celtic or Himalaya grains for a while about twice per day. Then after months I began putting it slowly into my food. Now I keep it to a teaspoon minimum per day. It really stabilized my BP and it does not fluctuate as it did before.

Thanks. I consider myself in great shape for my age. My bp was always good until recently, and it seems to be related to my recent marriage problems. I appreciate some of your suggestions, especially, Dale Carnegies book. I remember reading his HOW TO MAKE FRIENDS BOOK as a youth and it helped me on my personal relationships. I’ve monitored my bp carefully as a result of it being a little high yet stressful situations incites it to shoot up dramatically. My doctor suggested a a minimal dose of bp medication, which for me had a instant good effect overall. I monitored and weaned myself off the meds, lowered my salt intake and it seemed to go down well. But stress related issues still has a tendency to raise my bp. I’m ordering Dale Carnegies book at the moment. Hopefully I can learn to chill … thanks again

Hi....I'm 76 yrs. old & have done beet juicing over the last several years & what Dr. Story says is absolutely true. There's a noticeable drop in pressure within 4 hours from drinking the juice. I use a large beet, spinach, any fresh fruit, carrots, tablespoon of honey, fresh squeezed lemon juice & sometimes fresh juice from and aloe vera plant(don't use the skins). My blender gives me about 3 servings. It truly is amazing how quickly this process works...So, give it a try!! Jacky : )

I’ve heard that lemon juice combines with oxalates so you don’t form kidney stones so put lemon juice in water or on your spinach or kale. Also something in milk combines with oxalates so have a little milk with your beets.
