I saved the led light settings and the XL did not keep them. I set A B and Pan to black for 1, 3 ,5 and 7.

When I try to assign filter cutoff to knob 9 (via track select, using the original pan knob) it gets the same CC number as track 1 (both CC49). Shouldn't track 9's CC be 57 (tracks 1 to 8 have CC49 to 56)?

How come I can't configure the bottom buttons color while in user mode? I can switch on/off anything when mapped to a paramater but i'm not sure when it's on or off because of the buttons can't be lid.

if you mean the mapping, remember to select also "remote" in the MIDI ports.

We're not aware that the Reaper team have added any specific integration for Launch Control XL but you should find that you can use the MIDI learn feature within Reaper to manually map parameters to Launch Control XL. Alternatively, if you know the Note/CC values of the software parameters that you would like to control, you could also create a dedicated Template using Components and save it to Launch Control XL. - components.novationmusic.com/launch-control-xl-mk2/templates/new

Yes, you can manually map Clip/Scene Launch controls to the Launch Control XL buttons of your choice in a Custom Template. Launch Control XL doesn't feature 5-Pin DIN MIDI I/O but it is a USB Class Compliant device and does pair well with USB MIDI hosts for standalone use - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGGwoGmaoJ2fgpo

Can you explain how to setup 2 launch control xl mk2 in Ableton Live 11 on m1? Bought 2 and it doesn’t work… I can only control the same 8 channels on both devices.

You should find that conflict is minimised if you assign a different Device ID to each Launch Control XL. To do that, hold down User and Factory while connecting the USB cable.Then press Track Select Left and then one of the bottom pads to change the ID. You can leave the setup by pressing Track Select Right. Yes, that's possible. In addition to the control demonstrated here, which is made possible by the dedicated MIDI Script that's built into Ableton Live, you also have access to 8 blank User Templates. You can use one of these to manually map parameters of your choice, as demonstrated at 7:51

Hello, apologies for the delay in response. If a vst has shared it's controls with Ableton, then when the LC XL is in Device mode, it will automatically map parameters. Hi Bruno Otero , It is normal to have a small amount of noise when the LEDs are drawing a large amount of current (e.g. when all the LEDs are on). However if you feel that the unit is producing an abnormal amount of noise we can definitely have the unit looked into. +NovationHelp I've got the same issue with mine. I returned the original one I bought because of this noise...I was sent a brand new one, and of course it produces the same amount of noise. I've owned and own several controllers with more LED's then whats on the XL and have never heard such sound. To be honest, it's a pretty basic controller and I don't see why controllers with many more LED's don't produce any noise..??

NovationHelp Great Unit. Has the Windows 10 compatibility for the Editor been sorted out yet? because I am poised ready to buy but will need the editor to put them on different MIDI channels and manually MAP a second UNIT side by side so that I can mix 16 Tracks at once without flipping switches. This is one of the few control surfaces with track focus and three encoders, would have liked a Mackie, Icon or Touch X but they all only have one encoder so I can't see why any manufacturer would make a control surface for hands on mixing and hen make it limited when it costs so much compared to your unit... lol This is by far the most useful I have found so far. Just need the editor on Windows 10.

John Mellor, i was also thinking lf this, why cant we buy two units and manually map them? What would be a problem? Do we even need the editor for that? Why dont we just use midi learn? Please explain

@@PsyformSamples You would have to use midi learn in every project, or use a template for every workflow you do. I have so many song type templates and different versions for tracking with my XAIR18 (to save time on routing 18 channels) versus mixing & mastering. I would not want to waste time setting up midi learn for each song project on top of all the other setting up I do - I use lots of different plugins and audio setups and have to deal with BYO kit as well from guests I cannot just tell people to wait while I program a mix setup - I just want it to work pre programmed by a script (as in MCU's) or using an editor to program each units specific behaviour. So I gave up waiting, have gone with Console 1 for all channel oriented control (includes 3 sends plus pan plus EQ plus Gate plus Compressor plus filters) together with Universal Control Surface & Extender because Console 1 is now fully integgrated so I can select a fader on the MCU and then adjust EQ, Gate, filters, compressor, pan, 3 sends without having to press another switch, then select another channel and adjust that. And the MCU has scribble strips so I am never lost. And the MCU also controls my new X18 that I use for zero latency tracking because I decided two of these would have cost the same that I got my Universal Controller for and it's so powerful so saved up for the Console 1 to control a full channel - and with abletons integration can't fault it and it's industry standard Mackie control - sorry but customers don't wait and nor could I - apologies for mentioning the other kit - please blank out if need to. It all cost a hell of a lot more, but it was worth it to get what I wanted and I wont need to sell it further down the line. Good luck with the editor, hope you get it all sorted out eventually.

when I assign my Launch Control in the settings , it does not light , nor the faders or the " control track " or "track focus" there is the LED on the "factory templates" that s' red lights. Also I can not manage my tracks ( eg like volume or both send) nothing happens when I turn the faders yet I assigned as in the video. Help me please and excuse my english

Can anybody help me with an audio problem in ableton live 11 standard. When I try to set up my Roland TR-06 as a USB device I get no audio in any of my channel strips in Live. I am pretty much new to Ableton so if anybody has any skill & patience could you help me please???

It is possible that internal audio from the TR-06 cannot be transferred via USB and the USB port is primarily used to transmit MIDI data. Solo leds are green, ok. Record Arm leds are red, ok. It's very clear, leds are good. But why are the Mute leds orange AND yellow, AND light green ? It is not clear ! Is it mine unit issue, or is it like that for any unit ? Thanks for your suggestions.

If the Launch control XL option does not show up in your midi sync menu, you will need to update your version of Ableton Live.

On my Launch Control MK2 the LEDs for the buttons do NOT light up either in Factory or User Mode. So if I map MUTE to button 9 (lower left) it does not turn on the LED (red for example). It does map to the mute function I programmed it to though. I can't assign these buttons at all. Except for USER and FACTORY none of the right side LEDs are lit up (up and down arrows, left and right arrows, DEVICE, MUTE, SOLO, RECORD/ARM. The ONLY LEDs that light up and that can be changed are under the knobs. IS this a software issue, a design flaw, or what? Does anyone know how to correct this? There are no videos or topics available on this issue. Either on Novation's website, or KZbin. As this was an early Christmas present, I do not want to send this back and ask for a refund. It is frustrating because this should just work out of the box.

Half of this process is registering for a product I already bought, I shouldn't have to make an account, register a device, etc, just to use a midi device. This is ridiculous.

Registration is only required in order to access the bundled content, as that's not something that would ordinarily be available for free. This process essentially replaces the discs that used to come in the box as many people don't have computers with CD/DVD drives. This also ensures that you have access to the latest version and not the version available when the item was packaged. If you already have Ableton Live, you don't have to register. Launch Control XL is plug-and-play.

You don't have to do any of this. Registartion is only required in order to access the bundled copy of Ableton Live Lite and plug-ins, essentially just replacing the discs that used to come in the box. This just ensures that you have access to the latest version of all of the bundled software but you don't have to use the bundled software or register your device to use it.
