Sadly, not all women are ready to be mothers and sometimes people around them suffer because of this. I have also rejected one lady not long ago, simply because she has issues and she's not ready to be a wife and a mother. I don't want someone with issues who is going to affect me and my children. It's irresponsible. All of this applies to men too, if they're not ready to be fathers and husbands then they should not marry and reproduce, not yet at least.

My step-dad was awarded custody of his two boys after their mother left. IN THE 1970s!!! It was unheard of that the father got custody back then. He and my mother raised us (three kids from my mom) and my step-brothers as a blended family unit with no child support from either non-custodial parent. My best friend in high school had a similar situation. Her mother abandoned her because she is slower mentally and has a speech impediment. Her father left the Air Force to raise her on his own until he got re-married. I don't think Mr. A ever got child support because she didn't know where her mother was until 10 years ago.

But I had godparents that watched over me and took me in when my mom got too bad. They never took a dime from her and really helped her more than she deserved. It was hard as a child - especially bc she was quite vocal about how she felt - but it made me VERY aware of how much more my own children deserved... I feel for this man so much. My husband has been through this with my stepson's birth mom. I'm trying to go for adoption now, but she refuses to sign over her rights. She hasn't seen him in five years, hasn't paid a dime in child support in almost nine years, and he's nine now, yet loves to call me names and say I'm not his real mom. I've been in his life since he was one. And people are shocked when we say we're trying to terminate a mother's rights, not a father's. Sometimes the mother is not the good one to raise the child.

It sounds like the mother is vicious and you may need the court's help on this. I know it means having to see psycho chick again but for that nine year old son of yours that you treasure immensely, but for him how far would you legally go to make sure he's safe from her?
