That takes self-reflection and the only way for someone like her to take a deep look inside herself is once she looses mommy dearest. She thinks mommy dearest will always be there to catch her, once mommy isn’t there to catch her, she’ll realize that she took mommy for granted and at that point is when she’ll finally realize she’ll only have herself to blame Right after she has burned all the other bridges she thinks she is entitled to

I don’t mean to be petty towards my mom, but I wish she would be like that. My mom always complained about the bills and said I needed to help her pay, but anytime I said “yes, I wanna help”, “teach me how to do the bill’s/taxes”, “how much/what part do you want me to pay for?” She would just say “oh, don’t worry about it”, “it’s too hard to explain”, “it’ll be easier if I do it myself”, and then get mad at me AGAIN for not helping! It would happen EVERY TIME, I’m living with my dad now, and paying him rent. I know I that not having to pay sounds pretty nice, but the verbal abuse and constant mind games I was getting from my mom wasn’t worth it.

I understand that this young mother is going to college full-time AND she has a full-time job as an intern. That is commendable. I respect her ambition because a lot of young Moms DON'T get that chance to continue their education (much less have a DOUBLE major) and land a good job when they are a single Mom. HOWEVER...I DO agree with Grandma. Being a mother is her FIRST job and she SHOULD NOT be taking advantage of Grandma to (as I understand it) raise HER daughter without any kind of help from her (financially or otherwise) If anything, she should be THANKFUL to her Mom for raising this beautiful little girl so that she's not being cared for by STRANGERS all day. She has a grandma who obviously love her and cares about her..
@powerofleo
@powerofleo 2 жыл бұрын
Added* And when she opened the clinic she does not pay a single payment to her mother for her services. She should have paid monthly rent, baby food, and Nani payment as well, She will then know the real cost of the child. Without her mother she cannot do college or a job either, she should be thankful to her.
@CeltycSparrow
@CeltycSparrow 2 жыл бұрын
@@powerofleo I agree. I just did a little Google search. Most parents pay (on average) about $750 to $850 a MONTH for childcare. This Mom says she has a double major and works full-time during the day, so IF she didn't have Grandma taking care of her baby full-time, that would be around $10,000 a year, give or take, that she would have to shell out for daycare for her daughter. She's not paying Grandma ANYTHING to do this job full-time. The Google fairies also tell me that it costs about $15,000 per yr to raise ONE child in 2021. According to Grandma, this child and her mother are living with Grandma RENT FREE and Mom isn't contributing anything to help pay for food, diapers, medical insurance, clothing, etc either. Personally, I think, since Mom just got this nice raise, she should be paying grandma a monthly rent, she should be paying for ALL of her daughter's needs (food, clothing, medical needs, diapers, etc) AND she should be paying Grandma to babysit her daughter as well. I think that's only fair, since she says she's gone ALL DAY and doesn't get home till midnight (WELL AFTER little London has gone to bed). And I DEFINITELY think that when the Mom is at home on weekends that she should be 100% responsible for caring for the child and give this poor grandmother a break. That means MOM wakes up early and feeds the baby breakfast and gets her bathed and dressed and takes care of her all day. She doesn't sleep in and make Grandma do all the work on the days she's at home.

Some of us grew up with their grandmother taking care of us then when we became mothers, our own mothers didn’t want that same responsibility or couldn’t give it, so I feel for this young lady. One of the things I thought that was extremely beautiful about this particular case is the fact that the mother is not in there trying to make her daughter out to be a bad mom. She gave her the positive respect she deserves when she stated that her daughter did do her best to spend time with her daughter on the weekends when she was able. She did not speak disrespectfully about her daughter whatsoever. She was just there to try to get the compensation she was owed for all of the hard work and time she was putting in essentially raising her grandchild. The look on the daughters face when the judge told her the amount that she would have to be paying in child support was absolutely astounding. I don’t believe she ever thought she would have to pay an amount that high let alone pay anything at all.

The mother of the child needs to take the biological father to court for child support, then the entirety of that money should then be automatically transferred to the maternal grandmother. In addition, the mother of the child should provide financial support to her mother during the time she is raising her child. Yes, this young mother is struggling to juggle the cost of school, basic living costs, and the money needed to raise a child, but at the end of the day, it is her and the biological father's legal obligation to pay for all financial costs for the child.

And so we start with blaming the Father who was not present in this case.The daughter was the one who chose to carry the baby full term.She had access to plenty of BC even morning after pill or even adoption if she did not want to be a mom.Maybe dad is not mentioned because he's deceased.But we don't ever want to think about that because it always easier to get angry at the man for whatever reason despite the daughter being extremely selfish towards her own mother.

I’m so happy this didn’t break out into an immature argument. I’m glad the daughter was understanding about it and owned up to it. This was very mature and I liked the “sorry honey you gotta learn” part too. Grandma is understanding too and just wants a little help and i’m glad the daughter didn’t fight that. You can tell they alone have a strong bond and grandma just wants what’s best for her daughter and grand baby:)

She is very lucky that she still has her mother helping her out. I hope she learn to be grateful to her mother's efforts. Growing up I remember seeing so many women and men thinking it’s ok for their partners to take care of their children without financial compensation. It makes me so mad, even if they have job or they are going to school they need to pay. I mean obviously the grandparents could help out if they wanted to, but not permanently until their kid gets their shit together. They need to learn that the minute they have a child it’s their responsibility.

@@richardbean1707 I don't disagree with you, I'm believe you providing for your family was a gesture of love. However, that's how adults think. Do you think your kids understood your sacrifice? Do you think your kids would prefer the lifestyle you provided or spending more time with you? 🤷🏾‍♀️ You, friend, are NOTHING like this woman. Idk if you raised your kids with a spouse/partner or if your mom cared for the kids. Either way, I know you sent that paycheck home. So why compare yourself to someone who comes home every night to their child yet still has mom taking 1st spot in raising the child. IMO, BIG difference. Your kids will understand your sacrifice one day. This poor girl will constantly question why she is closer to her grandmother than her mom. And that chills me to the bone.
