I hate the stages that have a concrete floor and a tin roof when guys are running big brakes! A local range has about 50 yards of the line covered like this with a couple conex boxes directly to the rear, and usually running 2 stages simultaneously...its freaking brutal. Shooting, waiting in the queue, or especially spotting. I usually throw on the can and dial for my known shift for those types of stages if i dont think it will cost me any points. I can't count how many times the RO has mentioned how much more pleasant it is for them throughout the day when more guys are running a can at the covered positions. It's also nice to run the supressor anytime we have to shoot through a culvert! Doubled up hearing protection, and my ears are always ringing at the hotel that night if I don't shoot those stages suppressed.

a brake around any reflective surface is significantly worse for sure! Near tires also seems to BLAST you.

I was questioning whether to shoot my first long range setup suppressed or not. I do have a .30 cal can I use on just about everything and this video definitely sealed the deal on my answer. Side question: Would a flow through suppressor alleviate “some” muzzle rise on a long range rifle setup? Thanks

Not in our experience. We have tested the Oss/Huzwrx, CGS, KGM and a few others, they really still bah like a normal suppressor. The best of both worlds is the Area 419 Maverick or TBAC Magnus-rr line. REALLY solid options.

They certainly keep the muzzle in better control, but theres definitely something to be said for how soft a brake feels to you.
