Now THAT is a promo ! Nick Bockwinkel is the most underrated World Champion in the history of the industry. He may have actually been the best. In the ring , on the mic , his athleticism, his appearance - he had no weaknesses.... R.I.P.

He was very articulate, very much a to-the-point kind of a Wrestler, and, after he spoke his mind, off he went. He knew that sticking around, constantly running his mouth, was like beating a dead horse. He wasn't into that... thankfully!!!

@@MrAitraining You know, people keep pointing to two main Wrestlers, Hogan and Flair, as being two of the best of all time. I personally get sick and tired of seeing Incredibly talented Championship Wrestlers such as Nick Bockwinkel being overlooked... time after time after time after time!!! Nick Bockwinkel held the Heavyweight Championship Belt for many years as a Wrestler, and he should be named as one of the All-Time Greats. Is he named as such? No! Why couldn't Ric Flair and Nick Bockwinkel work together in the same group? The answer is simple:Ego! Both of these legends were full of ego, and they couldn't stand each other. They would've been constantly vying for the Heavyweight Championship Belt, and it would've ripped the Legendary Four Horsemen to shreds!!!

I was gutted when I couldn’t make my way to Winnipeg to see Flair vs Bockwinkle way back in the early 80s. My mom hated wrestling so trying to convince my parents I NEEDED a to travel the 250 miles to Winnipeg to se a wrestling show ,was not going to happen. But thanks to the internet that match is on KZbin and it is as amazing as it sounds. Can’t remember if it was belt for belt but wow what a match. Winnipeg was lucky to get alot of amazing wrestling cards.

When you think about it both Nick & Ric had similar "characters" the I am BETTER than you type, but while growing up I loved Flair I actually think Nick pulls it off so much better. He was more articulate & rarely ever resorted to shouting which comes across as better than you persona. When you resort to the yelling and screaming that Flair used to do it showed you he was getting flustered. Nick never got flustered to the point of screaming.

Bockwinkel was, in real life, a very articulate individual with wonderful command of the english language. He was exceptionally intelligent, and no one in the sport could hold a candle to him when it came to expressing yourself. It's a bit of a shame, given his chosen profession, that these qualities pretty much forced him to come off as a snob. Check out some of the interviews of him "out of character". Very impressive stuff.
