Here I compare RTX Voice vs Discord's Krisp Noise Suppression Feature. Turns out, if you can use RTX Voice, it's a much better implementation and is a lot better sound q quality than Krisp.

Krisp is not going to make most of it's money selling to end-users anyway. The big money will be selling it to big companies to integrate it into apps. Discord is the start. Zoom, PS5 or XboxSX/Skype/Teams... I'll be surprised if they've not been bought by the end of the year by MS or some other big tech Co. While it may not work as well as RTXvoice, no special hardware makes it a simple value add for a MS or Sony to lock down to their platforms. For simple comms over the internet, it is more than sufficient and practically magic the first time you use it.

Just tried Krisp today in Discord and it's actually so much better than it was when it came out. It's kind of crazy. Before it sounded frankly awful compared to default Noise Suppression. Now it sounds actually pretty good although it cuts out too much background noise. I'm also unsure how it'll react if my dogs bark.

I've been using the discord implementation for months and never had a problem with voice quality. Granted, I am usually just in one on one chats... So maybe that makes a difference. I also have a 3700x cpu, so that might make a difference too. I think the fact that it can be baked right into apps is it's killer use.

Krisp from what I've witnessed is surprisingly good, sure it slightly messes with voices a little bit, but the fact that it removes fan and keyboard noises even with my friends having their microphone close and behind their keyboards is insane (Blue Yeti and Razer Seiren Mini). I could only hear keyboard noises if my friends speak and use their keyboard at the same time.

I'm still looking for someone to show if there is a hit to the sound quality when there is no background noise for both of these. It seems like the more noise there is in the background, the worse it gets, so I'm curious when there is little to no background noise if you can tell the difference between noise suppression being on or off.
@TheGreatCoolykoen

I haven't tested with Krisp, but i can tell you that when there's little to no background noise, the mic sounds pretty much exactly the same with RTX voice on or off. Ofcourse there will be people who notice a difference, but me listening back to a recording to specifically test that one thing... i feel like it is so tiny thats its easily a negligible difference. Hope that answers atleast part of your question ^^

Krisp sounds freakin' amazing on my MacBook Air-like, good enough for recording voiceovers. For some reason, though, Krisp just didn't sound as clear on my PC (!), so I actually use RTX Voice on one and pay for a subscription to Krisp on the other. (Krisp on Mac also sounds better than voice filtered through Audio Hijack, whereas RTX Voice has far less distortion than either RNNoise or the Reaper noise-learning VST, to my ear.) In any case, if you want your voice to sound clear on a Mac, you'll likely end up having to pay for the software you use. No cool free stuff like with a PC.

I was very disappointed with Krisp. NVIDA Broadcast is superior but what is not well known is that the process should be set in Task Manager with a priority of Realtime and Broadcast is now perfect for my recording. (Running on an RTX-2070) - You'll get random crackling in the audio if the process is not Realtime!

I know I'm super late to this but I think it's better if you just use one. Aside from you using two separate extra voice processing software that put unnecessary extra loads or task on your computer , you will also find that your audio will not be good, since it will be too muffled if you let it pass through 2 suppressions at the same time which will also make your voice input lag.

Surprisingly I find Krisp in Discord works a lot better as for removing the PC fan noise I have. Granted Im using a GTX 1080 rn and not an RTX card but im able to whisper in Discord and it picks me up fine. Where as with RTX Voice I have to set it to like almost 70% to eliminate the fan noise and at that level it cuts out my whispering and any words that arent loud enough which just turns me off from wanting to use it. Although it does limit down my keyboard and other background noises a little better, none of that is really my concern. Problem I have is if I want to use Krisp in OBS it seems I have to route RTX Voice through Krisp in order for it to work. It doesn't work straight routing my Apollo Twin. Strange. And Krisp costs money...

I’d argue that RTX Voice isn’t free, because you’re just paying upfront for the feature. You’re shelling out top dollar for a RTX GPU and buying into the ecosystem. That said it’s a nice little bonus if you already have the hardware.

@@SuprUsrStan Ye I guess. just expressed my opinion from a PC gamer perspective in which basically all PC gamers have a graphics card that will make RTX voice work (also assuming you bypass the RTX requirement of the installation process). Can you still use RTX voice if you don't have a separate gpu and only use a cpu with integrated graphics? would it not work if the cpu didn't have a integrated gpu? Or does it just make the cpu do all the processing instead then? I'm using rtx voice on my 1060 gpu btw :)

@@SuprUsrStan I agree, Krisp is very useful for users without access to an Nvidia GPU (mainly notebooks with iGPUs). RTX Voice is surprisingly easy to run on modern Nvidia hardware. It runs well on my laptop's MX330 which is basically a GT 1030 with higher clocks, and is perfect for conference calls and such. Sure, the fans will kick in from time to time but it's nothing to worry about.

RTX Voice as of now isn't fully optimized yet I believe. At least, they haven't perfected it with low-end Geforce cards. When I play Valorant on minimum settings while streaming to discord with RTX voice on, my mic sounds like I am underwater and constantly cuts out. I have a GTX1650 and i39100f setup, so its not even like my PC is a bad one. I even know some people who have this same problem on high end PCs with cards like RTX 20 or 30 series.
