Chain driven is a good idea even though having a chain is a pain in wet weather. Most people will inevitably neglect the chain. As a motorcyclist I oiled my chain whenever possible during winter commuter running but it was a hassle when you're cold, tired and hungry

I've always prefered these types of electric bikes, the ones with removeable batteries makes it easier to charge when you live in a block of flats, as I do. Look forward to the next video of this bike. :)

do you get a government grant subsidy for this bike?? they do for e motorcycles up to £1,500 or 20% of purchase price. as this sur-ron bike power puts it in the motorcycle bracket, or moped. so i think it should qualify?? and how did you register it??
@GreenMopeds5 жыл бұрын
To cut a long story short. Unfortunately not because it's too light. If you buy the road-legal bike off places like Ebay or mail-order then you have to register it yourself with the DVLA which you might not want to do but we register bikes for our customers. You're welcome to book a test ride if you wish here... www.green-mopeds.com/contact-us-2-w.asp

When you buy this motorbike the bike came restricted to 3kw? What you do to unlock and have the 6kw? In the Sur Ron site they say that E.U version come limit to 45km/h I don't want buy if I can not unlocked the bike to max power.
@GreenMopeds5 жыл бұрын
So there are two versions. Off-road with full access to 6kw and the on-road, with the same motor but restricted. The way its restricted is via a wire being cut. You simply reconnect the wire and the Sport Mode button starts working again. Ive done this and it works. HOWEVER, you need to then tell your insurer that you have done so as you are changing the bike from a 50cc equivalent to a 125cc equivalent (ie l1e to l3e). We have one for you to test ride if you wish

Mike 777 I wouldn’t say that even with sport mode enabled it gives you more than 3kW. Remember he says nominal. You may feel more power in spurts. What you can do is get an ASI 4000 or 8000 kit with a 25R battery and go to 18kW or 32kW nominal. I don’t recommend the 8000. You will die. Lol. Out of the box it’s fun but eventually you will want the 4000 controller. I love mine
@Mike-ys5wu5 жыл бұрын
@@bryjb10 yes it's a bit confusing the power on sor Ron becouse they say that the bike make 5000W? But is nominal? Becouse I saw ebickes whit only 3000w (72v x 40A) doing more top speed that sor ron whit the 5000w that they Advertise. I think whit 18kw you need a good motorcycle frame lol this is seriously powerful!

Once it's derestricted won't the range be significantly reduced as it draws more power from the battery? Also, are they sold with number plates and could I get 'hire and reward' /commercial delivery insurance for it from Zego? Thanks
@GreenMopeds4 жыл бұрын
You're correct. The more power you draw, the less range you will get. We register it, get and fit the plate and can deliver it. You can ask Zego if they cover electric but you can tell them its road legal.

@@GreenMopeds That seems to be the biggest barrier to using these greener machines. I've seen reviews of the Niu e scooters saying they couldn't get them insured so what's the point?

regarding the Government grant, how much under weight is it, surely theManufacturer could produce a UK version that was heavier,
@GreenMopeds4 жыл бұрын
3kg. They are looking at adding it. What should be done is that OLEV shouldn't consider the weight if its Homologated and has a EU CoC making it road legal
@oldmanonamotorbikeinbucks76044 жыл бұрын
@@GreenMopeds Good to Know, 3Kg! weight the seat, fit a pair of steel mudgaurds and leg shields, all easily removable, and your there I suppose. After all, pretty much all of the large Car producers cheat to gain homologation, Agree with you regarding homologation etc, together with the anti flooding levy the Government do seem to have questional commitment to their own Green Policys.
