Stock pads suck on the Surron. H03A is the best pads I have used. Bike stops much faster now. Just as importantly, I also have more control and can stop fast without locking up the wheel. So much better on extreme steep downhills that I used to have to lock the rear tire all the way down. Now with these pads I can just go slow without locking up.

thank you, it was easy. Only got stuck little bit to put back the safety pin on the side, the little dangly thing, but if you look closely its easier to find the way it goes in. thx

The cotter pin replaces both the retention bolt and snap ring. Obviously you don't have to use it but that is what it is for.
@emotobros
@emotobros 4 жыл бұрын
This makes more sense. Some motorcycles and cars will have the cotter pin on the retention bolt.

Great video, everything is very clear and helpful. Keep them coming. One suggestion though. You should put a link to the aftermarket parts you're talking about. i would like to know how much these parts are to tell if they're worth it to me and to make sure I am looking at the correct part.
@jwdonal
@jwdonal 4 жыл бұрын
They tell you exactly which part with a close up picture of the retail package. But yes I agree a link would be easier and leave no room for confusion. It's possible they just don't want to promote any one specific vendor for the parts.

Hey, great video! I have a slightly related issue. My brakes work great, but the lever on the right side doesn’t return all the way open after braking. It’s not a huge deal, just kind of annoying that I can push it just a little bit open after braking, unlike the left one that returns all the way open on it’s own after braking. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I changed my pads before ever even riding the bike, but I still have the stock ones. On Cole's bike, he is still running the stock pads in the rear and frankly that's all they are good for. They just don't offer enough stopping power for the front.

why do you prefer organic over metal i feel metal is a lot better for heavy bikes so its pretty much a must for something like the surron
@emotobros
@emotobros 3 жыл бұрын
Organic pads have better stopping power and a better feel in my opinion. They are also usually cheaper. Metallic pads last longer and are better for wet conditions but we have close to 300mi on the organic pads and they still have life left in them.
@r00kiet80
@r00kiet80 3 жыл бұрын
@@emotobros organic pads have better stopping power when their cold metalic are miles better hot considering the weight of the surron ur brakes run extremly hot on most dh tracks so running organic is pretty risky since they break way worse when hot and also wear off extremly fast when hot so if ur using surron for street/straight tracks organic is better but as soon as it gets a bit steep its metalic all the way theres a reason every downhill racer runs metallic and pretty much all e-downhillbikes out of the fabric
@emotobros
@emotobros 3 жыл бұрын
Very interesting, hasn’t been our experience with them. We haven’t once experienced any brake fade even after a long ride and they are easily strong enough to lock up both wheels.

Hey guys, I'm looking into changing my front and rear brakes to Hope Tech3 E4 and was wondering which type of brake mounts I should select for the front and rear? I can select either international standard or post. I can't seem to find this info anywhere online. Thanks
@emotobros

We have not put hope brakes on so we do not know what to recommend to you. We don’t feel hope upgrades are a large enough improvement over the stock for the money and I would recommend trying out a 223 mm rotor before completely replacing the brakes. Much cheaper and will have enough power to overpower any amount of traction you will have in the front.

E-Moto Bros thanks guys, appreciate it. The stock brake calipers are too soft so I wanted to change them out. I found some green levers and other components to match my new Emerald forks. Couldn’t resist, so I already pulled the trigger. Already have the larger rotors. Bike looks awesome with the green foot pegs I picked up...just need a green spring now and a can of plastidip to hit my hand guard clamps with.
