Sometimes I can save myself out of a situation, but if I tell everyone im low, I just make myself a target! I think the fact that people often "bot out" is a testament to the fact that these types of games last too long. Camping and dragging games out is promoted and rewarded, something should be introduced to change that.

28:31 You almost flipped that coin, but that's not a coin flip where the winning side is a complete win. You can get the capital and have only 1 troop left. You would have required enough troops to finish white off, and even then you'd probably have gone very negative with them having only 3 cards. But hey, sometimes it's fun to test the odds ;)

If yellow allows Pete to cardblock green then surely Pete will eat green and then cardblock yellow. By keeping green alive yellow ensures they have someone to trade with and hopes that red attacks Pete. Otherwise they're playing for third. What am I missing? Why does Pete think that yellow is playing badly here?

Agree, Yellow breaking Pete's cardblock on green makes sense to me. They are playing for 1st instead of playing for 3rd like Pete is assuming they would do. Because realistically, the moment Green dies, then yellow is definitely next to go.

Hey Pete! Love your content! You helped me get to Master really fast. I have a question. I have created a Risk map for my home state of South Dakota and would like you to look at it to see if you think it would be a good map to add to the game. (It has 66 territories). Where could I show it? I am guessing your discord but I don't know where. One thing that makes my map interesting is the fact that there are only 6 places where you can cross the Missouri River, vs 12 if you went by counties touching.

Hey Pete, you had multiple times early in the game you could have set a double card block on green and yellow at the same time when they were on 2 cards. Their garbage caps make it possible for pretty cheap stacks.

It would not have card-blocked them because they could trade with each other. To prevent that Pete would have had to put troops between the 2 of them too, but getting his troops there would have given at least one of them several more cards, and therefore at least one set allowing them to free themselves from the card block.

@@dismuter_yt not at all. He had to just attack through orient to block them both. Yellow is a two point block from Pete’s cap and south Russia. Black was a 4 point block in Orient. And 1 point in North Africa. Each block point only needs 10 troops to hold and setting it up didn’t open either cap.

@@risk_live Yes, attacking through Orient would give green several cards, at least 1 set if not 2, letting them annihilate the blocking stacks. In early game that would be painful.

@@risk_live Because to reach Georgia, or the territory above it to put a block there so that yellow and green don't exchange, you need to go through several other territories. Those territories become card opportunities for either green or yellow. If it's through Orient, then it's for green. If you're saying that every one of those territories would need 10 troops on them, that sounds like a 6 or 7 point block with 60 or 70 troops to dedicate to it. Keeping troops on the capital on top of that, it doesn't sound like something feasible in the early game.

They were playing for second the whole time. Once they got second they dipped. They knew they were a pretty easy cardblock.

Plus they weren't that far behind Pete in troops, with the fog they could reasonably hope that Pete would be weakened by eliminating green and yellow.
