Surefire E2D LED Defender

I have the first E2D light been carry it for 4yrs. Just broke my clip time to upgrade to the E2D led light. Love Surefire that all i carry anc carry it everyday.

Hey turbo great vid! Surefire is at the top of there game, have two... Been exploring other options and bought an olight m30 triton and man is that 700 lumens bright! In the 2 batt modes where extension tube is not needed it is compact and knurled at tail and bezel for striking.... BTW Murray Carter rocks! got three necks and haven't put them down for three weeks... Keep up the vids bro, in summertime the life easy!

@turbo311 well you don't get maximum output until the batteries die. There's a graph somewhere that shows the output in lumens over a period of one hour. It goes down to about %75 after the first 10 minutes and then rides that out for about an hour and then finally drops off to about %10 percent for the last 30 minutes or so. You can find the graph on the surefire website I think. Good luck

Admittedly, when I got the knife I was really excited and didn't properly assess it, and plus I didn't want my purchase to be a dud, but it wasn't sharp. The belly almost feels as if the edge rolled over, and the blade brand new, showed signs of previous wear. Now, Mr Carter tests and hand sharpens every one of his knives, extensively, so I'm not saying otherwise... I'm just saying. I still bought another one so even messed up, it's an amazing knife.

@DramaticPaintball yes there's no laws against it, not technically a weapon. The TSA might give you some trouble about it but I know people who have gotten it on airplanes before.

I just purchased another Carter. He had a deal where if you get a necker he'll throw in a free kitchen knife. So I had to, I was thinking about getting a new one anyway, so this threw me over the edge. E1D is an amazing light, though, next purchase. I love the Backup, though! And as far as warranty, I sent my A2L back because of a malfunction, and they sent it back fixed within ten days.

@bigboyjack21 No it doesn't. It's pretty narrow, fits in a pocket OK. The P60 is more of a holster light.

You can buy the LED head and get a new clip for free, but getting a new light is good too.

@Brownbear511 Really? I thought they are designed to be full 200 lumen until batteries are dead. I never knew what tactical level meant I thought it mean the lights full output.

Call Wes at Carter Cutlery. It was in the newest Knife Tip newsletter. Murray was writing some pretty in depth articles on sharpening in an attempt to offer more information for people interested, as well as driving up business. There was one where you could get the videos/stones for a bill, or even 25% on any item purchase. I'll def. do a video when my newest comes in. I'm sending my other one back, to get some care from it's Father.

I got the knife tips awhile back. How recently did you sign up for them? They must be changed. What is your knife in need of?

@Brownbear511 Actually, you're wrong. The light will put out 200hrs for 2hrs (tactical level) and then it drops to 50% brightness. Check CandlePowerForums for a detail review with run time charts.
