Whiting are delicious. Keep the bigger ones for a couple tacos each. Generally with the pompano to get them of any size ,with my limited experience, you’ll have to get out there towards the third gut or catch the surf on a very calm thus clear water day and or go further down PINS where the guts get deeper. Been down here for about six weeks in the area so far and really doing well fishing wise. The pompano are definitely running right now. Thanks as always for sharing.

Bait elastic will help the shrimp stay on the hook longer.

Cool video. I keep the bigger whiting for fish tacos. Loved that you caught a Palometta, I've only caught one in the 30 years I've fished the beach. Keep the videos coming. Need an update on the skiff.....

Thank man, I hope you enjoyed it! That's a good idea. I have never eaten a whiting. I might have to try that next time! The Palometa threw me for a loop. I had no idea what that was! Very cool fish! As far as the skiff goes, I am currently working with MarineMat on the final product. Should have an update soon!

What size circle hooks were you using?

Thanks for sharing that with us! What size rods and reels are you guys using? Tight lines!

I hope you enjoyed the video! Those were 7 ft. medium and medium heavy rods. Not exactly surf rods, but they work for the few times a year that I go surf fishing! All of my reels are 3000 series.

I thought it was a Permit at first! Definitely a Palometa though. The three vertical bars on it's side gives it away.
