I dont worry about holding the bottom while surf perch fishin. I like a slow reel with a 3oz flat sand sinker.

Agree I actually prefer sand weights. I will use pyramids if strong rip tides or sale my sand weights catch the current and carry my gear to the far right or left

Man so many people fish with the gulp worms and i have had zero luck with em. I use clam necks and cut razor clams. A lotta people use lures too but the heaviest ones they have are 5/8oz. I usually use 3oz with bait. I prefer to use my 9ft rod but i have an 11ft one that casts a lil further. Either way i dont understand how you can cast far enough with a lure

Gulp sandworms, paddle tail grubs work,. Sand fleas in the surf work too. Lures could cast further with some split shot or a Carolina rig with a one ounce egg sinker.

The sandworms work great when the fish are there. I fish an area for 15 mins. If no bites move down the beach til I find them. I saw a guy using a high low rig but instead of sandworms he had two rooster tail spinners. And he was catching fish. I think the fish will bite on many lures and baites if they are where you are good info on clam necks and lures. Thanks for that

What sort of swivel do you use ????
@tesslatv61052 жыл бұрын
Hi ! thanks for watching our video ! I'm not using a swivel. I tie a uni to uni knot connecting the main line to the leader. that way, I can pass the knot through the rod eyelets and cast farther
