Hey Alex, your videos are great! You fish all the places that my dad used to take me just a few years ago... but you actually manage to land the fish :) I’ve been watching for a while now and I think both styles of video have their merits. This was good because at least I learned a lot of you tactics about following the fish and actively pursuing signs in the water. In my opinion land based fishing is tricky because you’re limited to the shoreline but I love watching these videos because you prove that even without a boat and even within Adelaide there are plenty of great places to land a decent fish. Also love how you’re encouraging everyone to be responsible fishers by keeping the areas we fish clean. Usually I only go out crabbing in the warmer months because typically I’ve had little success with the rod but after watching I set the goal to finally catch a table size fish and I did! Well it was just a garfish so nothing huge but still a great improvement for my usual attempts. Can’t wait for the next video update.

Mate, the best part about your channel is you give other fishos knowledge they can use out there on the water to improve their game. I only started fishing 6 months ago, and its such a steep learning curve, but its awesome to have constructive people like yourself who drop knowledge and help us all get to where we want to be. Cheers for all your hard work mate

Another great video, a responsible fisherman - nice to see. I love these land based lure fishing videos, it can be a pretty hard gig some days but persistence pays off in the end! If you could maybe show the lead up to catches sometimes that would be great, just to show the technique for each lure style. Keep up the great work mate!

Any knowledge on the Trimmer Parade end? I haven’t been able to find a Salmon Trout for the last three years, my usual spot at Outer Harbour off those ship watching platforms used to produce the bag limit on paternoster and whitebait but not a bite in such a long time. I’ve since been fishing various other spots targeting Salmon Trout with absolutely no luck. I’m from the old style, burley up and soak a bait.

Nice vid Alex, I was having some awsesome action there a year ago mid winter.There was thousands of baitfish in an area there and the salmon were herding them in to shore , only after dark and on windy wet nights this particular spot fires.Not quite as big as the one you caught but good solid 30/35 cm, great sport.

I dind't think you could catch squid in west lakes until a year ago when this guy fishing near me for bream near the old warf near glanville was cursing and carrying on, I asked him what was up and he said squid. Chucked a jig on and got 4 decent squid in 4 casts.

great video mate and i went fishing there last week at about o'clock at night and caught nothing but i got a litle hits and would you be able to tell me what lures are best for salmon and i was use a hard body then man soft plastic lure and didn't land one
@Alexsfishin6 жыл бұрын
S0UTH.AUSSIE. B0YS hey mate, cheers! It's very strange, but I havent had much experience with salmon at night time, just after sunrise is usually the best time. My favourite hard body would have to be a Daiwa double clutch for them, but surface lures are also effective if its calm. Grabs their attention I reckon, especially if they're on the prowl for baitfish. With soft plastics, a squidgy flickbait is a good lure. Preferably in pilly colour.

Awesome vid! Wondering if ya can help me? Your using a 1-2kilo rod graphite rod. I’m thinking of getting a graphite rod for soft plastics, squiding, long casting. 3-7 rod okay for this or stick with ur 1-2kilo?? Is there much difference,?
@snapgoob93226 жыл бұрын
for a long cast on small soft plastics like he uses in the video u want a to go as light as possible but for squid u would need something around 3-6kg.
@Alexsfishin6 жыл бұрын
Cheers Nikola. A good rod to start off with that particular use would be a 2-4kg 7ft rod mate.

@Alexsfishin6 жыл бұрын
Gettin Hooked DownUnder Hey mate, these aren't whiting holes. Yes we do have yfw in West Lakes but 99% of these are bream holes. Not saying the whiting won't be making these! But it's pretty uncommon in the lake.
@GettinHookd6 жыл бұрын
yeah bream make up alot of the holes here to, but yeah sometimes whiting hang out in them the holes. They are probably dug by bream and the whiting take over
