I used to fish in the river when i was a kid in the 1980,s . The river was full of fish and never disappointed, the same with West Lakes. But i used to take my father fishing in the Port river a few years ago while he was dying for the fresh air and fun. But the river is nothing like it used to be, bream are few and far between and when you catch them very small, didnt even catch any mullet or garfish or mulloway.

Yep pretty sad when the guy catches half a dozen small ones and everyone wants to know where he is fishing says it all 😅

big problem is certian groups of people take undersized fish by the dozens

Hi, great video. Where do you get your tackle? I'm from SA and in need of a new rod. I'm thinking Abu Garcia. Not sure if I go spinning or baitcaster. I have never used a baitcaster before. Loved your easy casting too.

This style of fishing spinning for sure. One thing with spinning u have a drag sound. I can buy tackle everywhere from tackle stores to BCF and online.

@@bangonfishingadventures I just got my new rod: Daiwa Crossfire XT 7' with 6lb braided, and some assorted plastics. I'm going to go to West Lakes today to test out my new setup. Thanks for your tips.

@@bangonfishingadventures yeah I haven't had much much there. Started fishing 5:24 today and finished 6:40. Only landed 1 juv. Bream and that was on squid. Nothing touched my plastic. I'm keen to go to the boat ramp as featured in this video. Looking to go early morning at sun up.
