Really appreciate the details put into the comparison. Instead of just measurements you showed us the height differences between the pro 8 with and without the keyboard. I also appreciate when you said the stand on the pro 8 IS strong, buuuut not strong enough to draw with. Every inch was reviewed and I thank-you very much! Definitely subbing! :D

Great video as always! For gaming on the Nvidia GPU, DLSS supported games could get the FPS up to playable levels.

I wish the monitor of the SLS could go flat and flush with the key board, so you can have a tablet, but also still have access to your keyboard.

Ive been watching these videos for a while now and im def going for the sp8, i really dont need something as bulky as the laptop studio since all the gaming i do is either minecraft or small indie games and im sure it will handle CSP and Toon Boom Harmony perfectly which is what i use for work. The only other thing i wish i could see in reviews is how being plugged in affects thermals as youre working on the devices. Thank you for the detailed and numerous reviews!

Normal use, including drawing, won't produce much heat. Device only heats up with games.

Update: Runs things surprisingly well, all of the art software i tried looks like its locked to 30fps or something though i dont really get that. Most demanding thing i ran on it is psychonauts 2 and if you half the resolution you can run it on high, basically no visual difference. Multitasking with art software produces little heat as promised, and the battery can handle around 4-5 hrs of work with discord and a browser in the background.

Hey teoh, good video but wished you showed some gameplay.. and for the sls I'd recommend gaming at quarter resolution 1200*800 is way more reasonable for triple AAA titles like God of war.. and surface pro 8 can definitely game with the Intel xe graphics again you have to mess with settings and 960p is quarter resolution but I've been able to have a lot of fun 😊

hi. Which power saving profile was turned on for the battery test? There are 3 (recommended, better, best).

Great comparison. There aren't many people doing reviews from an artists' perspective on these devices, so I appreciate the content a lot. I initially wanted to go with SLS and get the RTX model, but I don't even game that often - and when I do, I play old or not so demanding titles. SP8 (the i7/16GB/256GB LTE version) ended up making much more sense to me, it's powerful enough to do light gaming at lower resolutions, saw people running games like Witcher 3 and GTA V on it and it was playable. Gaming aside, the most important reason for me to get the device was to draw and work on the go, SLS is quite a bit bulkier and pricier with the RTX confiquration and I really wanted something lighter and more compact than my MB Pro 13" late 2016 model. Saves me some money swapping the SSD myself on SP8 as well, so that's a big bonus I suppose.

I absolutely love your reviews. They are well elaborated and you make it easy to choose between one or the other. I have a quick question: which do you personally prefer, the Surface Studio Laptop or the Surface Book 3? Thank you :)
@teohontech7141 Жыл бұрын
Probably Surface Laptop Studio. But since I don’t need the graphic card, I would just go with the Surface Pro.

Thank you so much for this review! Would you consider a comparison video between Surface Laptop Studio vs ASUS Rog Flow X16 (also a 2-in-1 laptop)? The price is about a ±50sgd difference.
@teohontech714111 ай бұрын
They are quite different. Get the Surface if you need to draw, otherwise the ASUS is the better laptop.

@@teohontech7141 Ok, that makes my decision easier. My main priorities are design, illustration and some video editing ☺ Thank you so much for the reply. And, happy CNY!

Hi Teoh! What brand is your laptop stand that you used for the Studio please? I'm considering buying a Studio Laptop for digital art and would prefer a greater choice of angles for drawing.
I'm kind of bummed! I got a SLS and it has a lot more jitter than what other people have shown. I've even tried different Slim Pen 2. It's already outside return but maybe a warranty down the road
@ghostmiyu2 жыл бұрын
I've heard that the Wacom Bamboo Ink plus pen works with the SLS and you know Wacom is amazing with no jitters but I couldnt find any reviews of anyone testing it on the SLS so I'm hoping Teoh here manages to get one :(
@theinktician2 жыл бұрын
@@ghostmiyu Wacom Bamboo notoriously has jitter. The Wacom you're thinking of is the battery-free EMR Wacom pens that only work on select devices, like the Samsung tablets
@ghostmiyu2 жыл бұрын
@@theinktician from what ive heard, the SLS only supports the bamboo ink plus. I have seen no one reviewing it using both so I won't take your word on the jitter yet.
