Sick breakdown. Do you have any experience surfing the northern spots like Balian? I've never been but planning a trip with my friend who has never surfed so I would be worried about the crowds for his sake. Maybe I'll just have to go alone one trip to scope it out

Hey Andrew! Thank you and no I've never actually been up to Balian, but I think Balian and Medewi are slightly more chill than Ulus and Canggu. But as a beginner at places like Old Mans in Canggu, it can still be ok for beginners as you're not out the back competing for waves if that makes sense?!

Balian is probs my favorite wave in Bali, great left and the right is fun too, doesn't get really crowded, watch for those bull sharks tho, people getting bitten quite often nowadays
