Today I went sightseeing in Munich, and I couldn’t believe my eyes in the middle of the city. I saw people with surfboards in the English garden. There’s a river going through Munich called Isar Eisenach . The force of the river creates a constant wave where people can jump onto and surf I could not believe my eyes, some really talented kids show their talent, not on the ocean. It was on a river.

The Eisbach (German, 'ice brook') is a 2-kilometre-long (1.2 mi) man-made river in Munich. It flows through the Englischer Garten park, and is a side arm of the Isar River. An artificial wave has been created on one section, which is popular among river surfers. A meter-tall standing wave is created by a man-made stone step in the Eisbach Channel, just before it flows into the Isar River in the English Garden Park (Englischer Garten) in downtown Munich

Looks like germany is the heaven, ... no Speedlimit, nice scenaries, great prices, real four seasons, can Drink beer and Cocktails eyerywhere, good looking people, cheap tickets, solid stone houses, castles...and and and...

There is a speedlimit. Its not that the hole country has no speedlimit. Thats only on the autobahn.

We have all that in Denmark too.. No Autobahn though.. but the minimal age for legal sex and drinking is 15.. No mass shootings, police almost never fire shots, a gouvernement that can work together left and right.. not much violence and media we can trust.. Good health care, free education, free doctor and if you lose your job, you get paid 2 years from the union and after that the state takes care of you.. it’s pretty sweet..!

In Germany we have a lot of rules, bans and high taxes. The gas and the electricity is very expensive, the rents are high and many more. So you See, there are not only good things. Everywhere there are good things and bad things.

Munich is the place where you sit in public transportation while meeting wet people with a surfboard at the same time as meeting people with their skis and snowboards in their hands...

I used to surf there back in 83. No surfboards back then, we used Plywood with straps and tied a rubber bungee cord to a tree. As you held onto the cord it would extend and sling shot you up the river over and over again. Times have changed:)

Germany is definitely on my bucket list of places to visit. I watched wind surfers in the Netherlands this summer on my vacation there, and it looked like they had a great time on the water. It always tickled me to pick up this hobby/sport, but I already have that many, so I don't know if I will ever do it, but who knows, it's never too late, as long as you're healthy.

Here in the French countryside the friendliest people I meet are nearly always German! 👍 After one particularly enlightening chance meeting, a retired German dentist solved a mystery for me. Apparently, BMW and Mercedes cars ARE indeed equipped with indicators! It must be the French who aren't aware of the stick-thing sticking out of the steering-column? Amazing! Vielen Dank 😉👍🇬🇧
