I remember recovering from my emergency c section & the inability to laugh, cough or sneeze without pain. I’m a painkiller lightweight too, so only had paracetamol & ibuprofen. Lots of sleep & rest. Prayers for a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

Please make sure to rest properly, my dad ended up having 3 surgeries to repair a hernia because he did not get the rest he needed to recover. sending you healing. xx

Praying for you ... I had hernia surgery in 2009....my stay was supposed to be 3 days..10 months later I was released...I was on my death bed numerous times during that time..I am so happy that you didn't have any problems like that... God's speed in your recovery ❤

Aww:( sounds like my dad! Hernia surgery became very infected... he got very sick had to have a second hernia surgery to repair the first surgery and then he got a brain bleed just a few weeks later so then had brain surgery;(... three surgeries within about two months. Poor fella took months to finally recover.... in and out of hospitals and rehabs :( doing so much better now!!

Praying for you Sarah! I had the same thing happen to me in December and unfortunately some of my intestine also got caught in the hole made by the hernia, so they had to fix that also. But it healed super quickly and I pray you will heal quickly too!! 🤗❤️

Glad you got in for surgery so quickly! Abdominal surgery is NO JOKE. I had a major one in October 2022 (umbilical hernia and prolapse repair). It was a rough road to recovery but so worth it! Praying you get relief quickly.💜

Hi Sarah, So sorry to see you in pain after your surgery, I pray that you are out of pain really quick! So glad your friends and family are all pitching in to feed and look after the family. I know the pain you are experiencing as I have had two hernia operations, on after my third birth and one after my fourth birth. It’s not a fun experience at all, but you will get through it as Christ as your strength. A little tip- Please see a physio after you have healed to get advice on how to build your core strength again. I didn’t and now I severely regret not seeking advice. Five years after my fourth birth, I have pulled my back and hip muscles out on my left side carrying something heavy and it’s so painful and has taken weeks to heal the injury. I am still not out of pain or healed fully. My physio said it’s due to pregnancies and hernias and not rebuilding my muscles after it all. So here I am doing all the exercises trying to rebuild my muscles. Anyway, that was long winded, but I do wish I could go back and tell myself to see a physio years ago for gentle core building exercises. I can’t obviously, so I’ll let you know, exercise hurts after hernia surgery, but gently build your core back to avoid back injuries. Take care Sarah! God bless 🏝️🥰

I remember thinking how happy I would be to just take up my regular duties of life again and how I would neevrncomplain about cleaning the kitchen or doing laundry again, I would be so happy to just be able to function...I don't think Ive held to that very well. 😂 We moved out of town 6 years ago and I too SO many pictures from my deck, jist couldn't believe how pretty it was all around me. ❤

So glad that you were able to make a video to let us know that although in pain you are recovering from your abdominal surgery.... thank you dear Lord. I too have the same condition and surgery is in my future and right now it's just a waiting game. Awaitongt four joint replacements surgeries in my knees and then hips. Totally NOT looking forward to it but now I am barely able to walk without extreme pain. My initial knee replacement is almost twenty two years old so that needs replacement of a replacement. I am praying for your recovery and I ask with a sincere heart that you all pray for me. I am 73 and need all the prayers that I can re receive. This is one of the first times that I have asked for prayer......I'm always praying for others. My sister says that I am a strong prayer warrior and it's okay to ask for prayers for yourself when desperately needed. Been there.! A number of years ago I had a huge ventral hernia-not from pregnancy but rather 40+ years as a nurse. Unfortunately, I had to have an open repair, because it was so large. I went home with 4 drains and an 18” incision. When the surgeon saw the hernia the first time, he was floored! I only had 1 episode of severe pain, but the hernia was getting harder and harder to reduce, so it was necessary to have surgery emergently. Even with all that, I didn’t find the pain to be horrible, and I think I was taking just extra strength Tylenol by the third day.. I think the drains were more painful than the incision, because they would pull whenever I moved, even with pinning them up. I have a high pain threshold I guess. Thankful that you were able to get the surgery, and on the road to recovery. We strong, independent women don’t like being dependent, do we?

I had a total hysterectomy some years ago. Abdominal surgery is rough because every moment involves your core in some way. The worst is over after the first week. Continue taking your meds and following the directions of your surgeon. It's a blessing you have the bigger children to assume responsibility in the house! There is a hospital in Canada that only does hernias. They walk the patient to the OR and walk the patient back after surgery. Careful walking is very good for recovery. No lifting and no vacuuming. Wishing you well on your tecovery

I had a hernia for years and also learned to push it back in. It was the size of a softball. That pain is instant when it comes out but pushing it back in was also instant relief.

I have had 13 laparoscopic surgeries on my abdomen for ovarian cysts and it is no fun! Im glad you had amazing friends that brought meals, and that your family rallied together! I have three nephews that live with us that are 9, 11, and 15 years old and we have a 15 month old son. Since our son was born I’ve had three surgeries and my boys have all stepped up and helped me through it. The teenager said this last time that he doesn’t know how I keep everything going, but it must be God trying to teach him patience haha! I hope your recovery continues well!

Oh Sarah, when you were talking about going in for hernia surgery I thought about how painful that surgery was to me. It was my worst surgery and mind you, I've been blessed with a liver transplant. :) Don't know why it was so bad but it was. You are absolutely in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

Yes! We are in the same season! 5 weddings this Spring/Summer and innumerable graduation parties! We are still in the thick with many seasons of parenting (our youngest is 8), but having young adults is such a refreshing addition in a large family! We had our 4th graduate this year and our 2nd get married. I also become a grandmother last year! Many bright years ahead of us!
