My grandmother knew Liberace and we went to several shows in NYC at Radio City Music Hall. One year when I was 4, he took off his diamond cursive “£” pin and gave it to me. I still have it and wear it when my husband and I go to the opera, the ballet or somewhere formal. He was quite lovely and kind to me.

+Kat Pun I have quite a few from my PC. I knew his brother George, who lived in San Fernando Valley. Not far from me. He had no talent. lol. Liberace I believe is Italian. His devotion to his mother always moved me. He is indeed a genius. I loved dancing waltz's for many years. Also the polka's. I married an Italian man, and he could really dance. I think that is what kept us together for 24 years. How I wish Liberace were still here, to see in person. RIP.

Remember when television entertainment meant something? I was nearly moved to tears watching this. Not by the music, but by my own sentimentality over what was presented to TV audiences years ago. The talent, the care that went into the show as a production. Alas, gone now. I did get to see this kind of thing on TV when I was growing up, when I was far too young and dumb to appreciate it. A rare joy to see it again.
