Seeing the greats on TV it’s easy to forget that vaudeville and stage entertainers of every description from magic to performing seals and all between hoofed, hooted, and hammed in theatre whistle-stops for decades before being ‘discovered’ by network needing talent capable of single camera, or couple at most, production of live show.

That’s a great point I’m a child of the 50’s and a classic movie fan so I have some sense of life before television We didn’t get a television until JFK was going to debate Nixon and my dad came home with a huge “box style” television

My grandmother was Edith Harrhy a famous concert pianist from Wales. She died in 1969 but her stories about famous people she met filled my boyhood with wonder and I was committed to travel from Australia now 72 but met my own famous people! Phyllis and Liberace and Noel Coward were on her list

Yes, his behaviour, if the allegations are true, was reprehensible, but he was still a very talented man.

I bet Rolf would think that you are sexy as well. You could be his student, he will teach you how to properly blow Didgerido when noone will be around. 😏

I met Liberace in the Talk of the Town in London one night. He was having dinner with a colleague. I asked him for an autograph and he said later and he would find me in an audience of hundreds so I thought that was the last I would see of him. An hour later I saw him walking around the audience and he found me. He signed my wife's place card and we shook hands and had a short chat. It was like putting my hand in a vice. A really decent fellow.

I love the way Eva says "Darling"! Her voice and her accent are so sexy. Even at the age of 50, then, she looked amazing. I miss Eva. She was my favourite of the Gabor sisters.
