there was a whole thing in Portland and maybe seattle of communities doing house moving by Bikes . I bet there's lots of sturdy big trailers and makers right over the river

also, if you’re looking for something a little smaller, they make a short version of this called the Ted trailer. They are absolutely amazing. I own two surly bikes, both of them electric converted, and all of their stuff is amazing.

So cool! I already have issues with storing my dog trailer but I do love trailers to make a bike even more practical.

Nice trailer. I like the attention to detail around the connection. Surly does good work. For those who need to just haul groceries and the like, I have a BOB trailer that I love (I've had it for probably 20 years); it's a single wheel, so it banks with the bike, and isn't any wider than the bike so I don't have to worry when going between cars.

More cargo space than the cybertruck, and not nearly as pretentious :) I think that trailer from jupiter bikes is also pretty sweet, don't know if you've featured that one. Not sure how a rear hub motor works with either one, though

I needed a super big trailer so I built myself one it's not light though probably the trailer itself is 150 pounds I tried to keep it light, but needed to make the base stronger. I also looked for months looking for ways to attach it as attaching to the wheel hub to me is not safe. Found a way to get a full regular hitch into the bike seatpost all the way back and a dropper post down. I tested the pull with everything and maybe 200 pounds inside the trailer it can tow it even with a little bit of an incline. I have never tested the one hill though as I don't think it will make it back up. I have a new 5k watt motor on the bike just need to get a proper battery to run it then I'll test it. Once I think its good enough to pull the full 800-1k pounds of stuff I want to Carry all the time for work. Most of the weight I need to carry is a 600 pound brush hog mower.

I've been thinking about a E-Tricycle trailer build. with the trailer a goose neck. moving a sht of plywood as one of the design goals, with the other being able to move a small sub/speaker on a stick PA system that I use for Block Parties.

I have the Ted, and really like it on a couple of my regular bikes. The only think about it that bums me out is that there's not a hitch that'll get it to fit on my long-tail e-cargo bike. The quick-release setup won't work on the rear hub, and I wish that instead of the Big Dummy side-rail option, we had some kind of clamp that could go onto the side-rail of any bike. But I understand the lack of versatility, but wish I could pull this with my most robust ebike.

Hey Johnny, could I haul a 100lb 12 foot kayak on this Surly Bill Bike Trailer? I have a Perception Pescador Pilot 12.0 w/Pedal Drive and I'm located on the Kitsap Peninsula in Washington.... I would love to just haul my kayak around on a bicycle!
@JohnnyNerdOut9 күн бұрын
I mean, you could. ( where there is a will there is a way) but the trailer is only 5’ long so you’d have to angle it and dangle a flag off the end.

Hey, thinking of buyng this trailer. Will be transporting up to 300#'s regularly throughout NYC streets (lotsa potholes)....is this thing sturdy, will it last or fall apart???

It’s the strongest out there IMO without making something yourself.

That trailer seems like a good solar e-bike touring trailer! Where did you get your shirt? I used to work at a company called Sybase in the 1990's that had that as their logo. I want one. 🙂

As long as you load it correctly over the wheels and use low gears it should only add minimal wear

So I got rid of my car and bought an E-bike. Love it but suddenly realized, how am I gonna go golfing? Well I found a trailer much like this that had pneumatic tires and was light weight. I can carry 2 golf bags (provided they're not full of spare golf balls etc.) Remember, the more weight yr pulling the quicker your battery will run out. Just remember to bring the battery charger along to juice it up while you're out on the course.

I went to there website and this item was not there
I didn't even watch the video, I went to go so how much this was because as someone without a car for the pat 3 years and only commuting via e-bike I really need something like this for certain occasions. $1200 is steep though. The thing is average driver spends around $16,000 a year on keeping their vehicle on the road so context is important. And this may be perfect.
@heathenshaunt6814 ай бұрын
No context is not important it's how they get you to justify the outrageous price we pay for every thing we buy now we spent a life time being told technology would make things cheaper yet all they do is charge more for less

No way that's worth 1k I will build a ghetto shopping cart trailer like my current one way before this you get a cheap schwinn trailer for kids lose the fabric and stuff to support it and strap on a shopping cart basket it will hold what you use yours for pretty much for a quarter of the price or less

I hook my laundry cart to my folding bike and I go shopping. I ride an 8 mile round trip to target.

@@jagwrights.I’ve owned one used for £350 they’re just so well made I respect why they’re expensive and would buy new if I had to once I actually used one and saw the build quality bearings literally everywhere it could do with them and it hitches on both sides not one so you don’t get that rocking feeling when you pedal of the trailer being towed you get on really horrible budget trailers The wheels are removable bearings more than serviceable those lock nuts are a pain being 0.5mm thread and m10
