Great video, I’m in the middle of restoring a 2011 Pugsley. Just sourced a rear Endomorph tire and will be setting it up as single speed. I plan to run rim brakes.

I have the Wren light weight stem so yeah eventually I may add the bars to the mix. Right now using the 35mm stem/bars from my Beargrease.

They have been unstoppable thus far in snow, and roll well enough in the dirt. I will update after a solid year of use though!

I just built up an ICT in safety mask blue . Wheels are HED big aluminum deal 27.5 with terrene cake eaters 27.5 . 4.5. Can’t wait to ride it.

Renthal fat carbon bars and stem will add comfort and improved handling. I've always run carbon bars but was surprised by the improved control from the carbon fat bar

@@Bertie.. I didn’t mention it in the video, but the AL bars and stem I put on are from my Salsa Beargrease, and are 35mm. Haven’t really got to see if they help on the ICT yet, but I had a thought the 35mm would be a better match for the heavier front wheel on this bike.

On at least one of the Pugsleys, it looks like you have the Surly OD double crank. How much clearance between chain and tire do you get with the Ednas in the smallest gear?

Both bikes are 2x, 2x9 on the black bike with 65mm wide wheels, and 2x10 on the Green bike with 82mm wide wheels. The Green bike with the wider wheels still has at least 1cm (maybe a bit more?) clearance between the chain and the tire with the chain on the inside rings front and back, have never had rubbing on either bike with the Edna’s (NOT true with the current Surly Wednesday though which does rub on Edna’s in the back and 1x12 in biggest two gears).

Do you know what is currently happening with Surly? I presume they're still around but the last Wednesday model I can find is the 2022 in Shangri-La Green. Have they just slowed down on their manufacturing or something else going on? Any information is very much appreciated. Thank you for all the extensive fat-bike videos you do.

Surly has never really operated on the normal yearly release calendar that most other bike manufacturers do, they don’t really classify their bikes by model year either. They just had a significant sale on the Wednesday and the ICT, so they have been active and advertising that. Not sure if they have any plans for new colors or updates anytime soon. Yeah smaller tires would definitely help that, they do lower the bottom bracket though and it does make the bike less capable.

Do you know where to get chain? Rings for a 2015 ice cream truck Ops to buy chain ring set up for my bike, I've looked every. Where and I have no idea where to locate them. Any answer would be appreciated. Yes it is a two by system

If you have any decent bike shops nearby they should be able to help. If not, online resources like Worldwide Cyclery should be able to help get you what you need. The ICT uses standard mountain bike parts on the drivetrain.

@@jeffbehnke8605 If you need chain rings, chain, cassette, then those things should be commonly available through bike shops and online (yes, Surly may not have it, but I don’t believe they ever offered those things as parts to consumers). If you are talking about something else you need, then I would need to know more details.

@@ElevationEveryWeekend I have a 2015 surly ice cream truck Ops. It has a 2 chainring front sprocket. 94 mm 4 bolt BCD O. D the teeth are chipped on the big ring. I just thought maybe you might know. Of some websites or surly owners groups that might know where to purchase one. It has been almost impossible to find anything after well over 100 phone calls. I really appreciate your time. Aero bars on a fats bike seems like an oxymoron.

While they are not the most aero bikes for sure, since the rider is the biggest aero drag, an aero position can still make a huge difference, especially for longer back country rides when the wind kicks up.

@@ElevationEveryWeekend no no, I get it. I have the moloko bars on my Bridgeclub and use the mini horns in a similar fashion. I'm not on them all that often. I ride in a lot of traffic and need to stay near the controls, but when it is relatively quiet, or there is a lot of wind I'm fighting, it certainly helps.
