I appreciate how well-spoken and focused each of the young people are. The absence of chaos and confusion is such a blessing to see. The highly colorful clothing of the women and young girls--so beautiful; each of them with a colorful and simple head scarf (the kind of scarf I wore growing up on a Montana farm in the 1950s, also without electricity or running water until I was in about 4th grade). Their culture is a lot of work, obviously, and they make it work......labor intensive for sure. Thank you for the visuals and audio and joy-evidence in all of it. Off to Google Earth now--to find Copper Canyon in Mexico. Thank you, dear Kirkland family.

My dad was in the Navy and we were stationed in Subic Bay, Philippines. While their, we helped establish a church with an American missionary. It is still a church today and very active spreading the love of Christ in that city. As we were preparing to come back to the states, my dad told us that he felt like we had been serving in the “mission field” for the last three years. Even when we returned to the states, we helped establish 2 more churches.

I was an exchange student to Mexico. Before we went our separate ways all the exchange students were together talking about what we expected and hoped to achieve on our journey. One girl wanted to live with the rich while I wanted to live with the poor. She ended up in that region in a missionary camp growing potatoes and learning no Spanish. I ended up with rich people where I often got in trouble for helping the maids with their school work and housework. I love the people of Mexico 😊

God's word tells us in Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he grows older he will not abandon it." [NAS] Some scholars suggest that implies exposing youngsters to various learning experiences that stimulate their own way of learning. The variety of ways you disciple your children will certainly strike positive chords in their learning to worship our ever creative God and King! May you be blessed and sustained in your effort to please Him and further His Kingdom.
