Surprising a Cambodian family in Siem Reap, Cambodia a country known for Angkor Wat, the most amazing temple in the world inside of Angkor archeological complex and only 5 hours driving from Cambodia's capital Phnom Penh. What to do in Angkor? Well I would say after visiting some temples eating a bamboo rice with is a Cambodia traditional food. In this video I was looking for a bamboo rice and a tub tub driver helped me so I tipped him and his family with a surprise reward!

actually I am a SiemReaper, still sometime difficult to find this sticky rice in the town. when I want to eat it. I usually ride to Angkor wat because mostly you can find it a lot there. * so that is why driver would say the word " Angkor Wat " to you when they saw the picture of sticky rice. I have lived in Cambodia for 8 years now, The government is working so hard to reduce the Cambodian people from poverty 17.8% in 2019 of the population to only 9.2% in 2022. It would be much better in 2030, case some people can make only 70 to 100$ per month because they cannot find a regular job, and the regular job in Cambodia will pay 400$ to 800$ usually. it's less but in Cambodia people can live a medium life.

Nothing have changed in Cambodia beside tourist sites and buildings high-rise. Their living conditions still very bad like in 2011 (remind me of Jamaica slum) when I've visited for 3 months my Khmer cousin works for Cambodia census organizations took me around to lots of Cambodia slums community... Workers was getting $50 to $100 buck depending on your job description..

10:40 He said the the bamboo rice seller some time just drive around the city(random place) to sell Bamboo rice because they sell it on the bicycle or motorcycle. But if you are in Cambodia people not call it Bamboo rice, we call it Kro Lan.

I like Bamboo rice very much and I used to cook it when I was young. It is common for countryside Cambodians to cook it especially after harvesting season. You are kind and this Cambodian family is truly humble and honest by looking their character. It is typical for humble Khmer to show their respect towards guests honestly like that. Enjoy your trip!
