This made me cry. It is every immigrant child's dream to do what you did for your parents. It is easy to forget that our parents were once individuals, too. They were children at one point and had dreams of their own but made endless sacrifices to give us a better life. They went on so long without taking care of themselves that they forgot to even hope for things for themselves. A trip like this serves as a reminder to them but also to convey to the parents that they are loved in their entirety; from when they were babies all the way through their lives. You are lucky that your parents take this reminder so well and really embrace the opportunity. Some parents have gone on for so long that even with a reminder they cannot come out of the cave where they hid themselves. Watching your mother smile like a little girl in the water was so heartwarming. And seeing your father relish every element and every minute of the family experiencing this trip was where I saw how proud he is of the family he has. Thank you for sharing these precious moments with us. It brings so much beauty to the world.

Recently got married in Hawaii and come from a restaurant background as well. My parents, aunts and uncles all worked years in the restaurant business (NJ) and for my aunts and uncles, this was their first vacation that wasn't Atlantic City. All the activities we prepared from the ceremony, reception, yacht, and all the additional activities my dad helped organize (travel across Oahu) for my aunts and uncles left a deep impression and I'm so glad we were able to celebrate it together and introduce my bigger family to my wife's smaller family in a tropical getaway. They even got to swim with sea turtles! Have been following this channel for a while since the beginning and seeing your love for your parents def makes me actively engage my parents and the hard work they went through to give my brother and me the life we have today. This is the best video which I have ever seen in any videos:. To honor your parents in what they had done for you and your sister when you were growing up. They gave up a lot and they worked hard all their life so their kids could have a much better life. I bet this Hawaiian trip meant a lot to your parents and they are so proud of you, your sister and families. I wish more young people would think of their parents more often and honour them when they are still around. Once they're gone, it's gone! You have this lovely video to remember them! Well done! 👍👍👍

This video brought me to tears. My father in law just passed away right before Christmas and he was very much like your father - selfless, ever so generous, a Chinese chef his entire life, an immigrant, sacrificed for his kids, cooked for his family, rarely travelled since he worked as a chef 6 days week, 12+ hrs a day to provide for his family (like so many immigrant parents do). One thing he did regret was not traveling more since he worked as a chef till he was diagnosed with cancer. So happy to see that you brought your parents to hawaii and seeing the joy on their faces!😊 They more than earned it!! Having them witness your sister getting married must have fulfilled their hearts and fulfilled his fatherly duties to make sure his daughter is loved and taken care of. I love your videos so keep making them and please keep traveling as a family when you can!!! Family is everything! Love from NYC❤

There were so many things I loved about this video. The most important thing I loved most was that you and your sister gave your parents a well deserved vacation. They worked so hard for so many years and to enjoy Hawaii at this stage of their lives must be a dream come true for them. In addition, to have their daughter's wedding in Hawaii with them, had to be the icing on the cake. You can see the joy and the fun they were having. I just thought this was just the sweetest thing and seeing the love for each other was very heartwarming. The grandkids are so lucky to have such loving and thoughtful parents and grandparents. What a fantastic video, I loved watching the interactions of your family, your dad, your mom...they remind so much of my parents, if my dad was alive, he would be just like daddy Lau, he was an American chef, and taught me how to make many of the dishes that I do now. I can see him rating food and saying how he could make it better or what he didn't like about things. The wedding was awesome and watching daddy Lau with a tear in his eyes for his daughter reminded of my wedding day and how lucky I was to have him around then. The US Navy sent me to Hawaii several times. It was really great sailing in and around the islands and visiting the away spots. The people areas around Honolulu and Waikiki were not pleasant, so I visited elsewhere and shopped either in the mall in Pearl, small out-of-the way shops, and ate at places where the locals ate or a steak restaurant hidden on the end of a mall. The Honolulu Zoo was one very nice exception to the people area rule. There were very few tourist and it was not crowded. Nice Zoo.

So moving and warm, reminds us all to appreciate our parents and make sure we let them know before it's too late. I know in Chinese Confucian ethics affection and emotions are suppressed, I grew up in the West and only in my 30s did I realise that. I made sure I let my Mum know often how I loved her and how grateful for what she sacrificed for us. Thanks so much Randy, you and your family are great.
