We adopted our daughter in 2020 and as the emotions of her first birthday approached, I decided to make this video as a compilation of the footage from surprising our families with the baby we had waited 4.5 years for.
Although she is still very young, we tell her everyday that her birth momma made her decision to place her with us out of love for her. She will always know how much her birth mom loves her.
We made this other video ( • Loving and honoring ou... ) to show just how much we truly love and respect her birth mom.
A big piece of adoption is correct terminology. A birth mom places a child for adoption. They don’t give them up and it is not that they don’t want or love them. It is because they love their child.
We are so thankful to our daughter’s birth mom. We love sending her updates and pictures. We never take a day for granted.

I’m in tears reading all these comments about birth moms. I gave up my only son 15 years ago because, at that time, I couldn’t give him the life he deserved. I decided that, just because it wasn’t my fault that I was in the position I was in, didn’t mean he didn’t deserve better. It wasn’t his fault. I think about him daily. I love him with every piece of my soul. I pray one day he’ll understand why I did what I did. It was both the toughest, and easiest, decision I ever made. I knew someone else could give him a wonderful life but I also knew how heartbreaking it would be to let them do it. I’m, now, in a much better situation and have a great husband, who has a wonderful extended family, and 2 young daughters who I’m able to bless with the life I always wanted for myself. It still hurts, daily, not having him, but I don’t regret it.

@@f.k.a1010 at the time, I really didn’t have a choice. I was told it would be open but the ball was never in my court. For the first year, I visited him every other weekend. Those visitations got more and more difficult. He got to where he would save his food and hide it in his closet for me. He asked me if I would live in his closet. He said he would share his food and toys with me and no one needed to know. He would cry for a week after our visits even though he just knew me as his Kym, not his mama. Right about the time he would start recovering from missing me, it was time for our visit again. I couldn’t do that to him. I had to let him go, for now. I just pray that the love I showed him during our short time together was enough to make him remember when he got old enough.

I was adopted and met my birth mother. I regret we could never fully connect due to my feelings for my parents and I couldn't be what she needed me to be, but I am grateful beyond measure and ache for her for what she went through. She was made to give me up. That broke me. I was searching for her again to reconnect but sadly found a memorial online instead. In the obituary it said she was a birth mother. My heart broke again. All love to those who love their babies no matter how they came into your life and love to birth mothers who love so completely they give their child up so they flourish. ❤

Wonderful you have adopted children you are so blessed..Im Adopted so my advise to you is Find out as much *medical history* and storys ..and make sure you tell the child EVERYTHING you can about the Birth mother/father Good or Bad ! ..I was adopted at 6weeks and told at 5yrs ( a good age )I wanted to know my birth mother I meet my birth father and had a good relationship and learnt where my piano playing and a talent of drawing come from ( the cord is never severed ) ..for some Adopted Children ..i always wanted to know my birth mother.. yet my husband also adopted didn't.. we both Love our Adopted parents with all our hearts ❤ and they will always be our real Mum and Dad ....make it comfortable for your children to ask ( because they don't wont to upset you in anyway !! they should never suffer thinking I cant ask questions because they will think i don't love them ..talk freely and dont be scared you will loose them to the birth parents .( it won't happen ) .blood doesn't make you family love does i have so much more advise but ill be quite now..wishing you and your Family a wonderful happy life filled with love and kindness from Australia 🇦🇺 ... 🎅Merry Christmas 🌲

For the wonderful brave selfless birth mums. ❤❤❤❤❤ In Australia documents are unsealed at 18 I think. Then either side can ask for contact. It can be difficult to make it work but all my children needed to meet the birth parents. It filled a hole in their life. They had questions only the parents could answer. Some are part of our extended family now, some come and go, some just met and it didn’t work out. I adopted 5 my oldest is now 50. These children of my heart but not my body are the reason I live. I love them all so much. They are wonderful siblings. It is such a precious thing to raise a child. Adopted parents have one thing in common, the emotion of that first meeting and all the feelings around it. I remember every moment of each one. The youngest was only 3 days old. We never took the sacrifice of the mums for granted. Our bedtime prayer included “God bless the mummy who made me”

A children loving family and siblings and beatiful parents and relatives. Hopefully, one day the mother of the baby gets to see this and she will know that she made the right decision at this point in her life. She had reasons to do this and for the baby its a happy beginning :) All the best for the birth mother and the people in this video.

32 years ago this miraculously happened to me and my husband. We had tried for 12 years to have a biological child and I was unable to. Birth mom was 16 yrs old and unable to care for the baby. My son is my greatest blessing and joy! He now has a 4 yr old daughter that I am blessed to be able to love! Words cannot express the happiness that these women give when they choose what's best for the child. God bless you as you love your beautiful baby girl!

God bless all the mothers who chose life for their babies. You are brave and you are most loving...I hope that you do not feel unappreciated. Your sacrifice for your child is a great act of love. I pray for the day that adoption will replace abortion.

Absolutely powerful. To the biological mother you are a phenomenal woman to have done this, and to the family, who took her blessings upon you. What a blessing you were given. May all her days be blessed.

Being a birth mother has become progressively harder as time goes on. People ask crass, insensitive questions and have no qualms about putting her down for her decision. It’s no one’s business how the baby was conceived, it’s no one’s business why the baby is being put up for adoption and it’s definitely rude to offer to loan someone money so they don’t have to go through the trauma of birth and giving up the baby. Also, when someone adopts, again, be respectful and don’t ask inane questions like if the baby was a result of rape, did the birth mother do drugs and alcohol, what was the birth mother’s age, what was het education and “now that you’ve adopted, your body will know what to do and you’ll become a real Mom.”

Oh I dream for this ti happen for me and my husband. I have been fighting breast cancer the last year and now in remission, it put me into early menopause so I will never ever be able to have any children, plus I’m now 43yrs old. I have a daughter from my first marriage but she is 25yrs old now I was so young and only a teen myself when I got married to her dad and had her a month later but now that I am remarried my husband now doesn’t have any children at all and it’s up to him to carry the last name on for his family. They make adoption so expensive and so hard to get a newborn so this happening for me is only a dream. What a blessing for you all. Sending love from southeast Kentucky ❤️

Newborn babies should be wrapped in a blanket...babies are so cocooned in the womb that without a blanket they feel as if they gonna fall
