They truly are the best scooter reviews on youtube! Not to take away anything from other good formats. Tom is simply the most thorough, touches on every single element, and often purchases these scooters with his own money.

That scooter is definitely a good alternative to the Max G2, the weight and disc brakes are a BIG plus even if they are cable brakes, its easier to maintain vs Hydraulic brake lines. Great review my bro. 😎👊

Thanks, man! It really is a solid scooter for the price. I’m thinking of doing another hill climb with the Max G2 on the boost firmware but I’m a bit nervous as I’m seriously worried about overheating lol. I took it out at 9pm last night and after 10 miles I got the battery too warm alert. May have to keep the scooter inside the night before to get it nice and cool before riding up the mountain lol.

@@tomsgadgetgarage You'll be disapointed with the boost feature introduced with last update as it's almost never on. I mean you enable it then see the red indicator and then red indicator turn off for no particular reason. You'll find out that when you would have liked to have it, it won't be available.

Hello again! I did test out the acceleration today. It’s quite a bit quicker but as you said, it doesn’t last long :(. I’ll eventually test its hill climb ability again up a mountain road but it’s too hot right now. Scooter overheats after 9 miles lol.

@tomsgadgetgarage yeah mine is doing the same thing lol so maybe it might do better in the fall and winter time. I ended up turning off Boost mode lol but I'm glad it's there.

Hello! Just wanted to know if I could leave the kqi 300x outside in the rain. Thank you!
@tomsgadgetgarage
@tomsgadgetgarage 20 күн бұрын
I would not. Most scooter manufacturers will warn against doing so. The IP ratings look at water ingress over a specified period of time. For extended bouts in the rain, water seepage into the scooter could definitely be possible. If it has to stay outside, I would buy a waterproof cover of some sort.

My new KQi 300X easily climbs a 1 in 4 hill that defeated my KQi 3 Pro. The twist throttle doesn't seem as smooth as the thumb lever throttle, but I understand that this was the part that broke the most on the older model. The hydraulics on the front don't seem to make much difference and trust me, the roads where I live are terrible (Portugal). I have this weird situation where the e-scooter suddenly decelerates on a downward hill though. I put it down to the latest firmware, which I've heard is a bit buggy. The ability to stop battery charging at 80% is a great addition, because lithium batteries last longer that way. I'm still doubtful about the quality of the after-sales service in Europe though. I had to email the global team almost daily to get them to do something. Hopefully, you won't have any problems with your new NIU. They are solidly built, and there is no reduction in quality between the 300x and the 3 Pro.

So I can only speak to what I’ve tested, but the Ausom Leopard is a solid option. On paper it’ll go 34mph, in my testing I got it to around 28ish mph. Full suspension, excellent range. Currently priced around $700 which is crazy. The KQi 300X is also a solid option with 24mph real world range.

I just took mines for a few first ride, and it zoomed up a very steep hill at 20 mph ! When I take my KQI 3 pro up that hill it tops at 10-12 mph ! I was so shocked ! Just gotta get used to the twist throttle, but overall I'm loving this scooter.

I guess this is just as good a place as any to post a review idea. I was wondering if Hiboy would be interested in sending you the Max Pro for review. 11" tires, dual suspension, 740Wh 48V battery, split hubs and 22mph. No speed freak but but it looks nice, has side LED strips and Hiboy typically has a reasonable to good history. My guess is that it's going to be a really smooth ride by commuter scooter standards, probably faring well against your "big three" commuter scooter review, as I call it. It's been hovering around in that $659 price point, though retail is listed at $849

I just took a look at it after reading this. Looks pretty sweet. 11” tires and a 48v system look nice. I emailed them so we’ll wait and see. Fingers crossed haha. I’m still waiting on that Zatori io+ I preordered last year. They sent some message saying they plan to ship very soon. I’m losing hope lol.

You're the one who got me watching that Zatori last year sometime. I've got their website on my desktop and I stop in there about once a month to see if there's any new news..... I see why you're losing hope. :D

Nice review. I have a Kqi 2. I consider it a gateway scooter to my next one that will have a suspension of some sort. Yes the app is crappy and I had enough trouble getting it open and running the first time, I was thinking of returning the scooter to Best Buy. I'm waiting for you to do a review of the Hiboy MAX pro. Keep up the good work!
@tomsgadgetgarage
@tomsgadgetgarage 28 күн бұрын
Thank you! 😊 Yah not sure why the ride logging is so awful. Everything else works. I’ll try reaching out to Hiboy and see if they respond. The problem with these scooters is exactly that, each one you get is a gateway to the next haha.

Such and outstanding review / recap! You kind of brought everything you learned in your other 3-4 videos of this model, into one. I've always thought this KQI3 Max was one of the best in the commuter segment and although I've never ridden the 300X, I can see that it's everything the Max was but better. More compliant ride, larger tires, faster, better acceleration and hill climbing, retains the same range of its predecessor. For people living in typical terrain, it's a complete win at that $849 price point. You've really highlighted that it's the perfect mix of everything in a commuter scooter.

Thanks so much! I wanted to get the full review out sooner but racking up miles is difficult with this heat. I was going to test out the Max G2’s new firmware up South Mountain but it overheats after 9 miles riding around at 9pm on flat ground because the pavement is still hot haha. Yah the 300X really is a nice scooter. As soon as I bought it they started dropping the price. At one point I think it got down to $749 for their anniversary sale. Even at $849 or even $999 I still think it’s an amazing deal.
@Patriot36
@Patriot36 26 күн бұрын
@@tomsgadgetgarage Wow I might have missed that pricing. The lowest I saw during the anniversary sale was $829 for the 300X and $699 for the KQI3 Max. Perhaps it was a one day flash that I missed but yeah, that's a steal! Oh, that's too bad about the G2 Max considering I don't think you've been seeing those types of issues with any of your other similar scooters. Hopefully they're able to correct that issue soon as I think you otherwise enjoy that scooter overall. I've never owned one from Ninebot. I'm a little leery of their software yo-yo-ing.

I had this scooter for a week. I returned it coz the acceleration is too strong even in chill mode. The front suspension is not enough, not stable compared to something like an apollo city pro that I've tried, and the ride is too stressful. The twist grip is uncomfortable in long ride. What I like and so far only this scooter has it that I know is the electronic lock as it does not need the scooter to be left turned all the time. You can turn it off and at the same time locked and it does not drain the battery. When someone tries to move it the alarm will go off and locks the tires. I wish all scooters have this feature.
