Nicely done. Living in Michigan, I think we worry about shelter more than those in the South. I had one of those ponchos and they are also great in adverse weather. Since you have a little room left, you could consider adding a little fishing kit, duct tape and/or a couple of Cliff bars.

Nice! That's an outstanding kit for the size and weight. I prefer a little bigger water bottle but keeping it at 5lbs that's a great choice. I've never tried the Escape Bivvy but enough folks have chosen it for their 5 lb challenge that it might be worth a look. It's interesting that given five pounds of gear you don't need to make a lot of compromises to hit the arbitrary limit. Good stuff! Do you have a video on the contents of the ALOKSAK kit?

down here in florida you need some kind of bug repellent. otherwise you get eaten alive . calories( a little something to sustain you for at least a day) and a fish kit and you are set.

Petzl E+Lite. its on amazon for $47 but they used to be about $25.. theres another version thats white&black and uses a thin elastic headband and stores in an included hard plastic case that floats. I like them both

I don't understand how any of you will acquire food. Fishing kit's and some wire for snares weigh almost nothing. Nice try and otherwise fairly complete.
