This video got me into bushcraft and camping. I was into tactical stuff but wasn't a fan of being in the woods for that long. After going through some shit and feeling alone being in nature became more and more appealing. I had a bunch of edc stuff in a crappy assault bag which almost none of it was helpful to me for camping. I stumbled upon this video and not only did it help with figuring out what I needed to get but it also got me interested in sleeping outside. I started watching bushcraft and backpacking videos religiously and I've worked my way into getting better and better gear. Sometimes I wish I can go back to having cheaper stuff as there's a certain charm to it, but I love my stuff from Finland way too much. I give this video nearly all the credit for activating the urge in me to be outdoors and I cannot be thankful enough for that. If I didn't have camping in my life it would be 100% more boring, tedious, and isolated. It's the one place I can go and escape the negative thoughts and feelings of day to day life. Alfie hasn't posted in years and there are other channels with way more information, but he was my first and I'll always be appreciative of that.

If you are looking for pure calories with lots of fat, protein, and carbs; you can't beat peanut butter imo. A jar of peanut butter the size of your pack of food would probably be about 10,000 calories. A small jar of PB has around 2500-3000 calories and is tiny compared to your pack of food. A large jar usually has around 7k calories and is still smaller than your pack. Plus, it's convenient since it has a twist top for resealing and it's perfectly cyclinder. Anyway, just my personal pro tip.

Stvn Bryan be careful with the peanut butter, if you have little water it can really dehydrate you, same as the nuts and protein bars.

Genuinely, this is the best of these type of videos I’ve ever seen. Everything to the point, clear, concise, and with great British humour to boot! Much better than the equivalent American bags which start with 10 kilos of ammo... Clearly everything you say is from experience. Excellent video!

If there was a pre-built pack I would pay for this would have to be it. Hands down the best setup I have seen and extremely comprehensive with redundancies. I would trash the radio and swap the hammock for a single person bivy tent but other than that perfect in my opinion.

Scrambled O Only the best in outdoor channels, the man the myth the legend AlfieAesthetics. Rumor has it that he is the very spawn of the gods themselves, some say he is the second coming of christ, or a completely unknown entity entirely, but who really knows? What we do know is, while his upload rate is... shit, he makes up for it in quality. Be sure to subscribe to our Senpai,Lord and Savior, AlfieAesthetics.

Even though this video is a couple years old, it still made me rethink my gtfo bag. I love your content delivery, no nonsense fillers, straight to the point how to do things. To the people hating in the comments about how he doesn't post often: just because someone makes good content doesn't mean they want to do it forever, think of this as a series of great info not sure weekly dribble about gear. I'm still subscribing though 😜

You need a stuff sack to line the pack then its waterproof and can also double as a float if needed.

You can get a military surplus kbar adapter for molle webbing for your knife. Essentially anything that has a belt loop, such as a sheath, can be molled to your webbing with this. Fairly cheap, around 15 usd if i recall properly. Pops up on amazon every once in a while

Quick tip from someone who used to work in a phone shop. Make sure you make at least one chargeable phone call every 6 months to keep the sims active. If you don't want to carry 4 then EE usually has the best service. One more thing to note. Some phones will be on 2G, others on 3G (2G inc) and others on 4G (3G and 2G inc). It's better to get a 4G or 3G phone as a lot of the companies are taking down their 2G antenna and replacing with with 4G.

Great idea with the flexible grill fitting into the nesting cup! Now I’m searching high and low for a grill or material that would work and last for that.
