normally these hacks are useless, but this one seems useful. I use a small plastic bag with cotton and resin, before that I used lard and cotton (just giving other suggestions)

@@Inventor1488 safer than wood. Alcohol is one of the cleanest burning fuels. But, i just use it to soak the starter material. Then that t lights the kindling , and that the oak, mesquite, etc.

I m not familiar with the device. You used it to apply heat on the blade to reseal the thermoplastic of the toothpaste tube, so i assumed it's some kind of lighter

Whose to say he had seen it as well, (?), everybody and their cat and dog are presently posting the same information as Bushcraft or Camping Tips, to "rake in" a few bucks, without so much as a "Thank You", but truth is, a lot of these "tips", etc. have been around in one form or another for decades so whom do you thank - you don't, you just pass it on so it can be appreciated by those who are new to camping and Bushcraft in order to make their adventure a little more bearable and safer.

The whole idea of survival is making, creating things from scratch not kitchen utensils for fire starters. Try rope and stick. Cooking game across fire without using any store bought stuff xacto knife. Sorry but you don’t get C for effort.
