At 30:15 - If you could redo it, would you consider walking that off-cap stack down to open the yellow cap? At that point, your cap is protected by yellow, so green would be the only one to get hit

30 minutes in Pete moved a 100 stack over to green's cap in Spain. Can I get an explanation of what the goal of that was for? I believe Pete said something about card blocking but it doesn't make sense to me because the cap in Spain doesn't prevent players from coming in so yellow could just walk a stack down and take cards as well right?

Since my cap only takes 3 cards and two of them are already taken I'm at a high risk of a card block in this position. My moving the stack over to green is an attempt to get him to work with me against yellow. Yellow is in an unbeatable position so the only way green can play to win is by trading with me and allowing yellow to somehow card block themselves. Green either didn't it this way or didn't want to work with me at all this game (I suspect the latter)

Breaking green’s Denaric Alps on 10:47 was a very rare, very poor decision from you in my opinion. Orange and yellow had already made their intentions clear by this point and to annoy the only player that was on your side in green was a borderline disastrous decision in my opinion.

That it was Mate. I actually didn't get a bonus throughout the early and mid games (thanks purple) and just cashed in my cards and relied on the other big fish to fight each other. It was another strategy I learnt from Oliv.. AHH the KPS 😉

At around the 300-600 troop mark I was waiting for you to make a move on yellow as I knew you had more troops than me after you ran through my bonuses earlier. I knew I was the weakest so my rationale was 'why should I' at that stage. I opened your center cap 44:15 (thinking it would be bigger) to see if you'd go into yellow. Later on I was going to kill you with my 1111 stack but I forgot to add in the bottom of Italy 57:36. I tried to bait yellow 1:04:57 into doing something dumb and going into your cap as they already went into you in Spain for no reason. Went for the kill at 1:10:01 but missed the split. After yellow killed you he had all of his caps empty except for one so I just cap run. The whole game I was just wondering why yellow didn't block you or me and I couldn't block them with the 500 they had facing me in London in the middle-late game. Ggs man, was a pleasure and good to watch back from another perspective.

@@FreePete None of this would have mattered if you had taken the cap. Instead of leveraging your 20+ troupes per turn to take a 9 capital that and solidify your border you messed arround with orient. Had you taken the cap, you would hold russia, push into orient and africa and basically keep yellow off bonus. By the time green was strong enough to break a scandi boarder (if he was even capable) you would have held to build a sufficent lead and kill yellow since he would be bonusless. I mean, you didnt see it and thats ok, but you are the one that taught us that taking capitals is most important

Yellow has at least 2, you have exacyl 1, and green has at least 1, does green have the other 2 caps or did yellow snaggatha purples at some point? 25:14 while you say you don't have a late game cap, i guess except for those who saw you place it initially and then did nothing in the +8 right RIGHT at the start, no one has come to pressure that cap at all since those first two turns or so? Maybe that was in fact intentional. It's a great choke, but yeah you have like no cap cards, and you can't send your biggest stack onto a hunt. That's probably why this game goes on for another 40 minutes. 26:01 we still haven't found purple's cap. it must be like either buried in spain perhaps? he was trying to take france earlier, maybe even south africa but i doubt it based on how yellow propelled. If purple and red swapped places in the turn order it we would have had a descending rainbow, of longest wavelength light to shortest. Also I heard you recently say pink, bro you've been saying magenta so long it feels weird to here you say it technically correct, i now preferring the wrong color-naming at this point, just so used to it after hours and hours of you playing.

Yeah that was the main issue this game. My hope was that he runs up into Italy and I needed the Orange cap to do that. Also had no way of knowing that purples cap was next to it. But yeah it's funny that I'm rewarded for empowering him by him suiciding for second. That's a nice touch

Personally I don't think going into green at 23:00 and on was the right move, cause I think that made them angry and made it impossible to team on yellow. I think you overestimated their ability. Maybe they would have never worked with you anyway, but with the position yellow had at that point already I think working with green was your only shot at winning and I think from that point on they were not inclined to work with you anymore. I think from their perspective it looked like you going into them to play for second, so they also played for second since they couldn't beat yellow. I don't know if they were good enough to card block yellow though, so maybe you would have gotten 3rd anyway. Definitely a hard game to win with the hold yellow had.

They both went into me at that point so I just started to stack on cap. If they wanted to both hit me I was going to card and pass until they smother me or kill eachother.

I am annoyed after playing Meta in my last game. I am a beginner. I killed 2 players for cards and had a grandmaster against the wall. Literally he could not win from his position Red however did not let me kill him and we went into a war that lasted a very long time I should've won the war but risk decided to gift Red my main capital with a 614 against my 325 going stupidly positive. He took the capital and kept 250 troops. Anyway. Grandmaster ends up winning because Red is an idiot. End of discussion

You have made a critical mistake Pete by enabling yellow shenanigans earlier where you could firstly card block him and send him to green , secondly get the green kill and thirdly get more bonuses + also you did read the table wrong where yellow had the bot cap earlier. Edit : "get the orange kill"
