Very important here in the NW...both intense fire smoke and volcanic ash fallout are a threat. I used a mask in the MT ST Helens Ash storm in 1980. IT WORKED riding in open back of Pick up truck.

Turn your rifle at a 45 angle it’ll line the sights up better. If your using a lighter recoil rifle the stock weld not being in the shoulder pocket won’t bother you. Practice at home with a BB gun so you don’t end up in the funny papers doing it at the local range.

Now that you're being sponsored ( in this case) I will simply say, please please make sure that you truly truly believe in the product! and are not just going for the money. I have no reason to believe that that's the case, I'm simply saying I don't think you're aware of how much people respect your opinion so keep it honest bro and keep the videos coming!

Contacts are not a good option. If you get OC/CS exposure they will cause you major issues. Your seal can be broken by running into things or fighting. While you can clear the chemical agents out to breath they can bond to the contacts. Stay safe

Much better than my 3M full face. This has more bubble vision. 3M only has a voice box on the very expensive models. Plus it seems like it's adaptable to other side mounted filters. 3M doesn't come with filters either. My friend is always talking about his NATO filters but his mask is 'ugly'. This is nice. I'm sure we can't get them in Canada but I'm gonna chech anyway. I keep masks etc around in case of chemical spills from trucks trains etc
@damienblackburn54592 жыл бұрын
The bubble vision isn't a big selling point. The use of a five-point head harness is objectively worse than most of the six points that most 3M/AVON masks use. Most masks you'll find that are worth a use/not as a costume piece will use 40mm NATO filters. Only a few will use bayonet filters, and most of those are half-face respirators. The big exception to that is the M50 gas mask which uses a proprietary bayonet filter. The "civilian" model, the C50, is the exact same mask but uses 40mm filters instead of bayonet ones.

How well will it work as far as protection against CS gas . I’m thinking about getting the Mira TAPR half mask I think that would be a little better for me . Of course I know that I would need goggles. Then for CBRN stuff I would need the whole suit hood especially. Although I just think the TAPR would be more practical plus it’s 40mm so top it with goggles CBRN filter hood and chem suit . Also it works with Mira’s other accessories

Any p3 rated filter will work against fallout, viruses, pepper spray, and CS Tear gas. They make p3 40mm filters and can be found on Amazon, ebay , and many other sites. 3m also makes p100/P3 (same thing) filters for their respirators that should also work on parcil safety masks.

How long do the filters last after opening, and what is the shelf life when they are sealed?
@parcilsafety3 жыл бұрын
Hey Shane, the shelf life of the unopened filters is 5 years. Once opened, OSHA recommends replacing filters after 8 hours of extreme use. Otherwise, replace them after they are noticeably dirty, damaged, or it becomes harder to breathe.
@SurvivalOnPurpose3 жыл бұрын
I will try to find out the sealed shelf life. I am pretty sure the opened life depends on the length and level of exposure to contaminants.
@davidclarke6658 Жыл бұрын
Some of the CBRN NATO filters say the shelf life drops to just 6 months with caps replaced after breaking the original factory seal if the filter hasn't been used up beforehand. But I have a CBRN filter still filtering gases after one year from opening, but I only use it to test masks occasionally. So 6 months would be just being on the safe side a manufacturer would be stating with the varying storage conditions a filter might be possibly kept in after breaking the original factory seal.

Pro tip; If you're rockin' a full beard, apply petroleum jelly to the mask where it makes contact with the facial hair. A THICK amount of it. DO NOT store the mask with the petroleum jelly anywhere on the mask.

ive been trying to find this as well!! i would buy this specifically for this purpose, assuming the 40mm thread self seals when the cartridge is not installed, or there is some kind of blanking plate. its been so long since i last work a military gas mask i cant remember if the 40mm adapter was self sealing - id think it is but i just dont rememeber
