I do like that little thing. You can never have too many resources for fire starting. In the bottom of my pack is a little sack that I practically never use, but it's there. It's an old crown royal bag with a can of sterno fuel and a ziploc bag. Inside the ziploc bag is a piece of fat-lighter(pine), a tiny candle, a ferro rod, cigarette lighter, box of lifeboat matches and it's all wrapped up in a piece of burlap (so it doesn't rattle). I say I never use it because I have duplicates of all of this(except the sterno) that are my regular use items. Some people think this is goofy and complain about the extra weight but it's less than a pound. If you are that worried about weight, leave something else out of your pack! You can survive a long time without some things but if the weather gets very bad, you better be able to get warm. I live in south east America and 'Sterno' is a company brand name for a little metal can that is a gelled cooking fuel. It can be lit in the can to start a fire then put out and saved by putting the lid back on. If it's a cold, wet and windy situation you can really count on the sterno to light and stay burning to dry out wet wood. It is also very good for fire making if you are hurt. People should consider being able to get a fire going when they are injured. Life doesn't always go perfect and staying warm with a broken arm or leg is the difference between survival and being a statistic. Love your channel/videos. Merry Christmas and Take Care buddy, John

I farm in west Texas where everything has stickers or spines! I may grudgingly give up my toothpick, but it better be a darn good survival tool to get me to give up my tweezers! Those are the main reason I carry a Swiss Army knife! What’s good is that feature is on even the smallest models.

@@calvinmientke3539 I live in New Brunswick Canada my province is noted for the potato farms along the upper reaches of the Saint John river perhaps you could tour the apple orchards along the river and the strawberry fields too as well as the potato farms I think that they must export all the good potatoes or sell them to the frozen food plants because it is impossible to buy a good bag in my local store. Either that or the handlers cause some damage.

I spent a big part of my childhood living in the country with my grandparents and had to start many fires in both the wood heater and the cooking stove so I know about using pine kindling so start it. We only used the kindling to get the fire going and then use the oak wood to keep it going. I have a multi-tool made by Gerber which I have for around home and one in my backpack, and day bag. Where I live we have plenty of pine which has been aged after the tree has been cut down and used it all the time.

I have used Leatherman multitools for over twenty years and never regretted it until today lol, I thought it was going to be a gimmick but clearly it is legit and the burn was amazing. Bravo that man, very smart custom tweak.
