Thank you so much for this video I`m a blue belt who is stocky and strong, so I get to roll with the giants most of the time, and the details shared here helped me remember what I needed to do when in bottom side control against a bigger and stronger opponent of equal skill. I went from being the victim to being much better prepared to reverse the position against them. You have some of the best BJJ content on YT. Keep it up, Professor!

Awesome shit man! 3 months into grappling having trouble in side control, I'm about to try this out man. It would be cool if you could share some tips on what to do when my partner has kesa gatame on me. Thanks dude and keep it coming its awesome!!!!
@sway715 жыл бұрын
Hey, man! I'm about a month and half in and I highly recommend you check out some of his older videos. He has tons of good stuff on Kesa Gatame. I recommend you watch the Kesa Gatame attack system before you learn the escapes, because It helped me a LOT to know how my partner might attack me while I'm trying to escape. Have fun!

Another awesome video. I'm only four weeks into by bjj journey (3 times/week) and have already used a few techniques I've watched here. I'll be drilling these tomorrow before class. Is there not a patreon for this channel? I think there used to be. I'd love to buy coach Tom 'a coffee' - it would be a bargain for this quality content.

thanks for the tips seriously. Been a striker since i was a kid and really thought it was about time i got good at grappling, never wanted to feel THAT unsafe if a fight happened and it ended the ground. I am a 2 stripe white belt now and needless to say it feels like i have no idea what am doing partly because almost any gym ive been at (been to so many due to travelling a lot, uk, sweden, cyprus..), i almost never gotten coached. It's like the coaches just teach 3 techniques, ill be lucky if they come over to explain some details to me and then during rolling they will just be watching the 10-20 students with minimal advise whatsoever. Then i feel like am bothering when i ask ppl to explain what they did to me after rolling n stuff. So yeah, when u say stuff it just clicks and makes it easier to understand and to remember.

Awesome! I love your content sir. Curious if you could maybe do a video covering knee on belly escapes? There’s a particular student at my gym who sort of defaults to knee on belly from side control whenever I (or someone else) builds good frames on him.

I noticed at 7:26 that your hands stay on the face throughout the roll and at 7:39, your student instead locks your arm with his arm. Any differences? Is one of them better than the other? Thanks for your videos, one of my go-to channels for learning!
