The visceral reaction to her cleaning the animal surprised me a little. Seeing the way they live in this village also reminds me of my childhood, when i got to experience the remnants of the way my ancestors lived. Our Amazon River was Bayou(bye) Rouge. So a bit smaller but very similar way of life to these folks. Makes me wish i knew how important my heritage was before it was a distant memory.
