Coming from Canada, I'd never even heard of a "spider broom" until we bought our barge and found one onboard...now we own two. One for each end of the boat. It's a morning ritual to do a walk-round and remove the buggers. As far as I can tell, the only permanent solution is to either sell the boat or burn it to the waterline, but just to be safe, both would be best! ;-)

What I do to catch and release live and unharmed is clear plastics cup and sheet of paper, catch them ender the cup and slide paper under and move away together, also works with fly's and keeps you from needing to clean after. Practice makes perfect and saves a lot of window cleaner.

Ah yes we do that too but we’re trying to find a solution to them not wanting to come in 🤣 there were a lot of spiders 🕷️ 😳🤣😁

The limescale cleaned mushroom vent looks amazing, I bet you’re thrilled to have solved that issue. Fantastic 🙂 I’m guessing that the peppermint oil product must have an emulsifier in it otherwise the oil will simply separate from the water. If it does separate then I guess you could give it a good shake every time you start to spray. I managed an essential oil business in Australia (near Byron Bay) and we used a product called TRO or turkey red oil. I think it’s made from sulphated castor oil. It’s pretty amazing stuff when you start reading about it and how many products it’s used in. It’s really fascinating that another oil product has the ability to make other oils mix with water (i.e emulsifying it). Anyway I’m waffling on so bye bye, love to you both and hugs for twigs. 🙂🐿🌈❤️ P.s I hope the spiders aren’t regrouping under your gunnels. Also, perhaps you should consider wearing gloves when you’re using your spray. If you’re feeling itchy that quickly then you might be having a reaction to it. It’s probably just contact dermatitis, but just wash your arms and hands after with warm water and a mild soap just to remove any lingering residue and prevent any further irritation of your skin. Any more server reactions like lips or facial swelling or difficulty breathing should be seen by a doctor immediately - you’re both clever, you know what to do 🙂

Hey guys, Had so many spiders in the house a few weeks ago but they have all disappeared now. Not that I have tested it myself but apparently peppermint oil is not good for dogs to inhale and Poisonous if ingested by them. Just so you can go and look for yourself and decide as it’s not something you may have thought about. I am sure you will have noticed if it was affecting the dog by now anyway. You can also use Peppermint Oil for mice and other rodents. Use it under the hood of your vehicles when left outside and not garaged. Keeps the little fellows from chewing on the wires.
