B. Those vent baffles are what I was referring to when I suggested that you use them instead of cutting up cardboard to make your own.

It’s so pretty outside I wouldn’t wanna be working inside. I’d wanna be playing outside.
@JamesMcnichol-ss2ocСағат бұрын
Glad you managed to get the heat going. I think your advice on having those extra parts for furnace is great idea. It always gives trouble when you can’t get parts. Having your own means you can fix it anytime. Also something I noticed in video your propane tanks are covered in snow. Always try to keep them uncovered as much as possible. I’ve had tanks freeze up in winter when covered in snow. That’s what my propane supplier told me to do to prevent this from happening
@SimpleLivingwithBiataСағат бұрын
Exactly! And thank you! I just got the tank filled but I was brushing it off daily before then! I shovel a path for them too haha :)

don't worry about the snow. Your roof is designed to carry the weight
@SimpleLivingwithBiata3 сағат бұрын
Fair, I think everyone we know shovelled some snow off their roof this week, we had 4-5 feet that compacted 😵💫

Wonderful video Biata. You’re such a trooper. Already looking forward to next weeks video. Can’t imagine living with your weather. The UK hasn’t been great, but never seen that much snow in my life. No doubt about your inspection going well. Will you get it done before Christmas? Love and respect from the old man in the UK
@SimpleLivingwithBiata3 сағат бұрын
Awh thank you! I can't wait to share the inspection next week! Getting it done! I'll have the home heated by Christmas! But we won't be living in it before Christmas hahaha 😅

Don't forget dielectric grease on electrical connections outside like on the batteries, vinegar and table salt makes a great cheap but effective contact cleaner, be nice to have a surge protector expensive but better a tripped breaker than smoking your home, we lost a neutral on our incoming power line and it cooked light fixtures, a tv, our 240v oven, it was a mess, toasted the board on the clothes dryer, took ten months to find older style appliances that could handle electrical surges, here we have at least 9 outages a year I would like a solar system, but we have generators, always have a back up. And extra, supplies like thermocouples, board, fuses, got to be your own parts store just practical living, so much has changed.

Plywood is not even required for a blown in 'bulkhead', stop. Double wall cardboard works fine, New or used moving boxes, don't even unfold them. Leave then flat and doubled and can be installed with your squeeze stapler. One suggestion. Attic access. There will always be a need to climb into the attic,, for a light fixture change, bath fan replacement,, service cables,, and modern insulation is 2 feet deep at least,, So, before you insulate, find the tricksy spot to slip in a 2X10 or 2X12 crawl board. Your trusses form Vs and Ys find the line through the trusses that Even a 2X4 lacer nailed to a sloped truss element 12 to 18 inches up,,, your blown in guys will bless you. You can install your crawl board 12 to 18 inches above the ceiling,, one in either direction from the attic scuttle will be invaluable 10 or 20 years from now.

@SimpleLivingwithBiataСағат бұрын
Agreed. But not putting wood heat in my trailer! Too dangerous in my opinion
@JeromeMartinez-y1yСағат бұрын
😂 oh God no! To quote a tik tok jingle dumb way to die, 🙄 even rural anywhere one has to be prepared, we have had power out for days and neighbors got cold, cause everything was dependant on electricity, our former neigboors plan for the covid lock down was well planned, he had munchies, a 1/4 ounce of pot, a gram of wax, so he felt his priorities were spot on, 😑
