A home invasion with no clues or leads goes nowhere. However, two weeks later, a father and son are taken to a construction site on a dark and cruel night. The father, buried. But unknown to the perpetrators, buried alive.

Not only did he dig himself out with his slit throat, but he didn't even leave for help until after he had also somehow dug up his son as well. That is true love. Sound like his son was amazing as well. In his last moments, he was pleading for them to spare his dad's life... his 1st instinct was to cry out for his dad's safety instead of his own! Sounds like a really good man who was also a great dad & raising a great young man!!!

When Jimmy Brooks turned himself in, it was because he was scarred of what Butch might end up doing to him. Jimmy’s words were, “I’m a dead man either way”. I can’t blame him for feeling that way. If you cut a man’s throat, shoot his son in front of him, bury him alive, and he’s determined enough to live through it, then you’d better be scared of what he might do to you.

What an amazing father + son. Fighting for the other’s lives in potentially their last moments. They weren’t thinking of self survival, but of the one they loved. I’m actually crying. How could someone kill a 12 year old boy while he’s pleading for not his life, but his father’s. My heart is broken again from this one, Mike. I think this is the most scary + sad case of all.

Ditto. Chills coarsed through my body when I heard him saying to get his boys body😔. I actually replayed that part of that AMAZING FATHER when he's walked to the 🚑 & the EMT is trying to "treat" him=SAVE HIS LIFE...Yet he's refusing, saying he wants his son body before he receives treatment...& you can literally hear the EMT trying to work out where his son is(because the fact that he literally JUST AT THAT VERY MOMENT was just relayed the info that he's got a son out there ~due to the father saying that. So I could just imagine the confusion that he's going through as a first responder, because immediately after hearing the father say that, he responds with something like "yes/of course"...realizing/or believing that there's a second victim now, whose been shot & the fact that he's just now hearing about the 2nd victim~ & hearing words like "my son was shot" & "his body"...so in the EMT's head, he's automatically in triage-mode, thinking about getting the backboard in order to get to the patients son and get him back to the 🚑 to Immediately start treatment on him/etc)....however once he heard the father explain that he's burried in a grave/whilst simultaneously hearing the officer who had called his chief, in order to explain the dire situation & the dilemma they're in...with regards to the father refusing treatment until they FULLY "dig up" his son's body(because as far as law enforcements side...that's a whole new can of worms...as far as having the foresight of preserving the scene & not wanting to compromise the integrity of the crime scene by trudging thru the crime scene, without CSI there to wear the proper gear & equipment: booties/gloves/etc so that they don't destroy evidence and contaminate the scene with THEIR OWN shoes/hair/prints/etc, because at that moment, the Officer didn't know that the father Actually KNEW the garbage🗑-suspects identity.) -But anyway, so yeah it's quite hair-raising because you can actually HEAR the EMT saying, "GRAVE⁉️" in response to the father when he's trying to find out where to get the 2nd victim...and then the father repeats "yes grave"...& again ~whilst he hears the the father saying that...he's simultaneously hearing the officers verify that fact, when he's telling his Cheif and describing the awful situation that occurred and explaining how the father LEGIT JUST DUG HIMSELF AND HIS SON PARTIALLY OUT OF THEIR OWN FREAKIN' GRAVE‼️ SMH...Just the thought of this HERO(the father)and how he was LITERALLY BURRIED ALIVE❗And as gruesome as it it sounds...unfortunately for the son, he WAS NOT buried alive; he was passed-on already after being shot. But I'm just taking solice in the fact that his son didn't have to suffer...his death came quick & immediate after being fatally shot...after all of the suffering and terror that his poor father and he had suffered through just prior to his death😔it's Absolutely Heartbreaking. All for some stupid marijuana growing scheme...GREEDY EVIL BEASTS. -Anyway...sorry for rambling on-&-on for so long...I should have just kept my comment short and sweet, with a simple "I agree!" response...but anyway I'm just gonna stfu now because I'm literally STILL rambling🤦🏻‍♀️

I literally got chills all over when Mike said "Only Butch wasn't dead." You have to have an iron will to survive your throat cut twice, witness your son murdered, dig yourself and your son out of the grave in which you were thrown, and walk to find help, and then refuse help for yourself until they helped your son. Maybe he couldn't save his son's life but he definitely made sure that the monsters who took his son's life, and the lives of the other couple, paid for their crimes.

When that guy was telling the detective that he’d allow him to charge him with assault and accept a fine and all the other BS that he was saying, that detective kept his cool pretty well. I’m not sure I could’ve kept my mouth shut. Good on him.

Highways under construction are popular because once they're completed it's very difficult to search for bodies even if you know where they are. Imagine the chaos of shutting down a busy highway for who knows how long while you demolish sections of it.

Imagine being the dumpster truck driver that accidentally crushes a corpse in the truck? Or the dude that drives the tractor/plow that uncovers a body in the landfill? Or, god forbid, you plow the poor bastard's body & cause further damage to 'em? Ugh. That's got to be traumatizing. Hell, the detectives that have to investigate those kinds of scenes. Brutal stuff.

@@deepstatethrombosis, I was watching another true crime video, where a bone was sticking up in the dirt. A new development was being prepared, and they bulldozed over 12 sets of remains. A serial killer’s mass grave. Many people commented on that video, in the construction trade, that they had been informed, if they ever discover human remains, to ignore it, as the discovery would cost the company tons of money. Absolutely disgusting, eh? I would hope that most people would be honest.

Jesus, the man's neck was chopped in half, only held together by his goddamn hands, refusing treatment until they found his son. truly an insane testament to the incredible ability of humans to persevere in any situation. Micheal malloy levels of seemingly supernatural endurance.

Thank you for saying that!!!! I've been reading through the comments trying to process this story. This one shook me badly. I was having a hard time when the 1st couple were shot & by the time the father & son were attacked I was deeply horrified. IDK what to say or why this story is effecting me so much...

It sickens me to know that monsters like this exist (and are often rewarded for their behavior - monsters sadly come in many forms). Tragic. I'm so sorry for the victims. Hearing about crimes like this are so upsetting it seems like the courts, even in the rare case they're working - and when at their most firm, aren't able to dole out justice deserving of the crime.
