I grew up in a small town where everyone knew each other. When I was about 8 years old, I saw a man with a cane who dragged one leg when he walked. I asked my Mother what was wrong with him and she told me that he had tried to kill himself and had not succeeded. Then I asked her why he had tried to kill himself, and she told me that his girlfriend had broken up with him. I remember saying that he must have really loved her to do that. Then she said something that I’ll never forget. She said “No, he was mentally ill. That’s not something you do when you love someone.”

I have no idea what she says now-a-days though, I'm way to nervous to try it with all the cyber-spying BS the government does, Siri would probably report you directly to the cops rather than joking about not knowing the answer anymore.

Deadly teenaged "love" stories are so depressing. People, when you're 28, you will barely remember the people you dated in high school! Edited to add: Yes, I know you guys who are replying successfully married your high school sweetheart. That's still on the rare side, and my point is that obsessive teenage love like this isn't actual love- it's just infatuation. See: the plot of Romeo and Juilet, which made fun of it.

@@willesco5211 She's a beauty queen compared to inadequate little squirt Pedro! But this story is not about the girl or her looks - it's about some males' huge entitlement and need to control females (I realise there are some obsessive females too, but this kind of crime, like all violent crime, is overwhelmingly committed by male perpetrators). Males like Pedro refuse to accept a woman's rejection. They should grow up learning boundaries and respecting other people's right to reject them. Yes rejection is tough but every human being goes through it sometime and learning to develop a thick skin and move on is a sign of maturity. Erica was free to date whoever she liked, she ended her relationship with Pedro and was not cheating on him. But he was a highly dangerous psychopath, capable of murder. Sadly they often look like him - inadequate and unimpressive. That's what makes them so dangerous, people don't realise what they're capable of. Christian made the mistake of getting into his car and it would cost him his life. Erica is actually very lucky to be alive - in most cases it's the female subject of the crazy's obsession who gets murdered.

His diary looks really nice though. Should have abandoned this insane behavior and become a artist/designer of some kind. He got the talent and skills. But nah, let's kill a guy for stupid reason and instantly go to jail. Genius.

So, Pedro hits Chris in the nose and then Chris is really upset with him FROM THE BACK SEAT. What? What kind of mates drive around 1 in front 1 in back! Great one Mike!!!

He also must have one hell of a long left arm, to be able to punch him in the face while driving. I was sitting here trying to figure that one out. Here in Australia it might be possible to backhand him but don't US cars have the steering wheel on the left hand side?

One time, when I was 19, my room mate and I were ribbing each other and later on we got in his mustang to go get some grub; the ribbing continued and he made me sit in the back seat saying that the front seat was reserved for ladies; I handed him my part of the money for food and said "close your mouth driver and drive".
