I want to give you the highest compliment. even though we were local to this - you're information is better than anything we have heard locally or otherwise. Most You tube channel's care not for facts but clicks. Cudo's to you mate. Even the origin of the slang ''rock spider'',, i never could work it out, nor do people whom use it know the origin either, yet You are the other side of the world - the cold rainy side :) Also, people are not aware of the prevalence of Rock Spiders over here, in the area there and surrounding towns. The news played down - not mentioning their original motivation (I'm not condoning it) . This is something we learned years later. Snakes, Crocs, Dingos, more snakes, spiders, blue ringed octopii, box jelly fish - get a bad wrap over here - rightly so - however they have nothing on the real, institutionalized sexual murderous predators that are way more, numerous and dangerous. The the victims of abuse seek revenge and become twisted murderous, torturous abusers themselves. How the cops could take so long, and not respond etc etc is common, not surprising anymore. Mate, please pin this comment for others to see as my main point is to compliment your accuracy, and clearly thorough research. You are doing a great service with your films. Good educational material for parents with teenagers, and the likes of us trying to make sense of the twisted parts of our society. Onya, from ""Astraya"".

Yes, this post should be pinned. We have had problems with someone who is known as the local rockspider in a certain regional area in Queensland. He's been trying to get access to oiur children. James wasn't 14 when he helped with the murders he was 18 - 19 yrs old and I don't think he is as innocent as people like to pretend he is. He met Bunting when he was 14 yrs old and Bunting groomed him and Vlassakis enjoyed torturing and watching the victims being murdered just as much as Bunting did

I feel you on this.. personally I think the kindest (?) Death penalty is a bullet to the head... Quick and clean. And while I fully understand the want to see those who carried ou utterly horrific crimes suffering the same way their victims did, I would be happier if they were quickly expunged from this world. I think it is bs that the legal system has successfully argued against some methods of death penalty under the guise of cruel and unusual punishment - seriously?!! @@masterpieces2218 no, there is a difference between killing and torture. Jail's around the world are full of people on death row (for how many years?) Or life in prison. Murdering someone doesn't equate to a death sentence yourself. It should. Torturing someone.... Lethal injection. You know the one that often goes wrong and involves some prolonged agony before death ensues? I'm good with that also As.for the families of the victims, I'm sure the thought of the perpetrators suffering would be welcome, but ultimately they just want them to no longer exist. Here in Australia we've had our fair share of brutal killers. These events were also made into a movie called Snowtown which is an extremely difficult movie to watch as it doesn't shy away from the torture which was committed and has you genuinely uneasy and filled with a sense of dread throughout the entirety of the film.

Australians... we are a crude bunch, but even I didn’t know the origins of the term rock spider. Geeez....

I grew up in a small country town and rock spider was a normal term till a friend from the city looked at me like i was dumb lol thought everyone knew the term

Nope, never heard of it either!

It's really fucked hey. It doesn't show any consideration for the victims. I figured the term came about because rock spiders are always creeping around, keeping hidden until they attack.

@@blahblahblahblah2837 right, i don’t think it’s okay to give “cutsie” names to disgusting pedophiles. it seems like a dark “joke”

Nothing cute about the name, nor is it a joke. In fact the exact opposite is true.

As a south Australian, You told this story better than I’ve ever heard it told. Thanks. Body’s in the barrels.
