Surviving Winter in a Log Cabin | Off Grid Building with Hand Tools, Tiny Home in the Forest

Hello my subscribers.
My name is Bjorn.
In this part, I came to my hut in the forest for 2 days. I made a design to make it convenient to clean the bark and make different blanks. also made a bench to put near the fire. I did all this with improvised means, and at the end of the day I cooked a steak with beef and vegetables. Almost all the time the temperature was about -5 degrees below zero. At 12 o'clock in the afternoon, when I was working, I saw a lot of wild roe deer, but, unfortunately, I did not have time to photograph them, I hope to capture them on camera in the second part.

A little history about myself.
When I was 16 years old, I already knew that I wanted to travel because I love nature very much. And I always wanted to have my own special home in the middle of a dense wild forest, where there are no people and modern problems. When I turned 19 and graduated from university, I decided to fulfill my dream. I took the minimum amount of things and went into the forest to look for a place where I would build my hut. I also always liked to film myself on camera, so I decided to film my journey. I film everything myself and edit these videos so you can follow my journey and hopefully learn as I do. I have no previous experience with this, just a visualization of what I want to achieve and willpower. So I'm happy to read useful tips in the comments.

Unter Deiner Videoüberschrift " den Winter in einer Blockhütte überleben" verstehe ich etwas anderes, als mal 2 Tage zur Hütte zu kommen und etwas rumzubasteln und es sich gutgehen zu lassen. Den Winter in einer Blockhütte überleben bedeutet für mich, den Winter lang die Hütte und den Wald nicht mehr zu verlassen und unabhängig zu sein, um Wasser, Proviant und Sonstiges außerhalb zu besorgen.

Hi Bjorn, very nice video. You have become my second best KZbinr only because, I just started watching you. My first is WildGreen Johanna and you both have so much in common but, in different ways. You remind me of me when I was a young man here in Alaska. When I came back from Vietnam, I lived in a wall tent for 6 years and then built my first log cabin, I was 23 years old. I am now 74 and still live off grid but, a little more comfortable. Watching you is like watching myself 51 years ago. Although, when you built your log vice, I would have left the bottom piece of the grabber longer to rest my feet on and make a better hold and it's more comfortable. The food looked absolutely delicious, nothing better than to cook over an open fire. Thanks again for sharing.

My son, who has been like a rebel without a cause for a long time has also found his niche in life. He became a game driver at Rhino River Lodge in South Africa 🇿🇦 and enjoys this life far from the maddening crowds. We use to tease my dad-- tell him winter is here then he wants to cut wood for furnace to heat house, then he wants cords of it in basement and stacks around in different areas so he knows which to grab first

Re "no previous experience" and "useful tips," It is customary to carry edge tools, such as an ax, with the blade turned away from you; right had, the blade faces away from you to the right, left hand, the blade faces away from you to the left. This is to reduce the possibility of falling and landing on the sharp edge of the blade. I always enjoy your videos.

Moved south to get out of snow/cold country and this year it followed us down here I like sunshine and anything over 60 degrees; in the north we could get 6 to 8 feet overnight soooooo much snow for me LOL sometimes it was too cold to snow

What a lucky man you are Bjorn; you have your own private wood supplier around you. You only have to bend to pick up any size piece of lumber you need, and this, wothout cutting one living tree. I admire that. I will dare making a little suggestion for your new wood shaving station. I would extend the bottom locking pin by 4 to 6 inches on each side for better confort when you hold a piece of wood in the locking mechanism. Are you planning to built yourself an outside toilet eventually? Hope to see your next video soon.
