Pumped already about a good 20 hours into Planetside since i stumbled across your is it still worth playing vid not so long ago. Really happy that i'm re-discovering this game. Spend most of those hours lone wolfing (mostly in a squad but almost always without coms) and i still really enjoy it nonetheless until shit just hit the fan yesterday. I randomly joined this open platoon of 4 full squads with this amazing commander. My mind was blown how coordinated everything was and very fast paced. just going from objective to objective with 4 galaxies, great communication with some laughs in between, a cat and mouse game with an enemy well coordinated platoon. It was like playing an entirely different game. Certainly going to look for a nice outfit now. Thank you for making this great content and i'll catch you Planetside ;p

It's a shame to say it took that long for the game to show its real potential. Charismatic and informative Commanders are the backbone of so many players sessional experience its a crime they don't have more help to make their efforts easier to execute. Every single time a new player has joined our tiny outfit they first ask about how committed they need to be to get accepted by our group. We always tell them that whatever they can manage is enough for us. Keeping the bar of entry low allows for rapid growth that both sides find enjoyable. I wish there was more community tools built in-game, but none of those will replace the feeling of getting told: "You are one of us now".

I've noticed Engineering works for me a lot more than healing , and oh man no one chats in this game it is tough to get a chat started when you barely know how to hit the chat button let alone find others to see.

the natural progression is starting as a grunt, doing what you are told then if you are good and follow orders well they may offer you a squad to lead. after that being platoon lead. i remember my time as a plat lead, it was cool as fuck. extreme stress and great responsibility but it was a blast. after a while you cannot handle the pressure and graduate onto a badass lonewolf devastation machine. able to single handedly turn a battle on its feet. i would know, after about 6k hours of gameplay people would just hear me yell "r4p70rk4m!!!!" after decimatibg an entire enemy platoon.

I consider myself a lone wolf since the beggining of PS2, thats what I enjoy but thats the reason why my start on this game was so slow, I had to learn all by myself. 2 of the best times I ever had, even as a noob (which i still am lol), was in a squad, with 3 other full squads, taking orders, capturing, was my first time in a squad was simply AWESOME!! Commander was great as well. And the second time, i was outside of the battle, on my own, looking at everyone fight, and picking off lone enemies who was sitting outside, or on top of buildings.

PS4 side has a Faction Chat option that any random new player can always ask for a good outfit. Normally players are nice enough to mention the good outfits in the faction which is nice. We also do the whole Subreddit thing too but thats rare.

My issue with planetside is this. I have tried being part of a platoon and I have tried just playing with my best friend but I simply just do not enjoy fights above 24 aside. I personally like battles with organisation of small groups where personal skill and player synergy can shine, in fights above 24 aside you make 1 mistake and you end up pinned behind cover from every direction unable to fire a single shot in retaliation. Not to mention NC cobalt has the most unreliable support classes I have ever seen with medics shooting through allies and walking over waves of ally bodies without a single revive in the past hour. Now allot of people will say I am playing the wrong game, but simply put I don't enjoy any other shooters these days. I like planetside 2's gunplay, environment, systems and art style, but I cant honestly say the same for any other shooter on the market. I honestly find myself having to play early morning or late nights as so many times I show up in a 12 aside and within 10 minutes it turns into a 96 aside zerg taxing my fps and causing lag every which way. Any advice for me?

We're really big, simple because we run open platoons and try to have fun. Of course, leading pubbies is like herding cats, so it's difficult to do any real tactics beyond "Put the waypoint on the base and throw the bodies a it". When we get more Outfitmates on and make a predominately TWC2 PLatoon we can get shit done. Or just do a Harasser race and ignore the fights, whatever works.

I started playing planetside 2 when it was released and quit after 2 years.....really miss it and hope if I come back It isn't the same bug fest it was when i left ; there really isn't another game like it in terms of the game itself and the community. On outfits The TTRO on cobalt is not lead be the founder but we have many officers and a few executive officers regularly online. We run several open platoons in a week and you do not NEED teamspeak, but it is recommended. We mostly recruit from these platoons. We are also the top scoring TR outfits on cobalt.

127 hours in and I still haven't joined an outfit. Not sure what's stopping me. Probably what's keeping me back is dedication, or lack thereof. Most outfits I see demand I at least join them in a fight once a month. That seems reasonable, and I'm sure it is very reasonable, but somehow I just can't keep to that. About half a year ago, for 3 months straight, I played nothing but Warframe. Now I haven't touched the game in a long time, despite how much I love Warframe. I will most likely get back to Warframe at a later date. Same with Planetside 2. I've been getting back into this past week and a half after not having played in a long time and I'll probably play it until something else catches my attention. Then Planetside 2 will sit there untouched for a while till I get back to it again.

I have NEVER played with an outfit bc I like to stay unaffiliated and go where I want to go and not have it dictated . often I found when I have tried simply going for a rush to an objective I get bumped off . if I lone wolf I wouldn't bc I am cautious and calculating , sneaking, being crafty and using trickery. that's the fun part for me so an outfit sort of takes away from that. But I am willing to try if I can find an outfit that jives with my ps2 needs

For picking a server, just make sure you hit the "Show all Servers" button, and then pick the one with the lowest ping. Best I can recommend, because there aren't a whole lot of servers to chose from.

I know them...we all do, but anyone etcept that kind people that shows to you saying "how beautiful is planetside" and you start platino with him, and sudenly you start to get fun, because of that person that showed you the truth about the game. And started to play with you and to laugh with you.. Those are the persons Who gives the meaning of fun to this game. I've been in and out over the years chipping up time to now 81 hours, and just this week, accepted a squad invite. It is not the fact that I am anti-social (I mean, I am, but I love games where people communicate, or if it has an easy VGS system,) but the thing that has always kept me from joining is mainly because I have a disability called Essential Tremors, which is basically a nicer version of Parkinson's. Such a problem really limits my abilities, especially in this game. Currently, the classes I can pull off decently are Infiltrator Sniper, Skyguard, and Cannon Fodder, all are decent--to me, especially if I can communicate as either skyguard or infiltrator "Uh...mass vehicle coming from northwest..." but also...they're rather not great for where the crux of battles are, when it comes to close combat...I'm pretty much stuck at bare basics of shooting: pull trigger, hope my hand doesn't flip out and have me point at the ceiling. It wasn't that I don't want to be one, but the fact that I don't feel like I belong in one because, and this is my stupid thought "Why fill a slot with someone who cannot really keep a mouse steady?" Given how much of a schism it is between skilled players and not so skilled that plagues the gaming world today, I don't think the answer is a positive one. Otherwise, I still like the game. It's kind of an old 90's Applejacks Commercial on why because, face it, this game is not forgiving for bad hands, but that doesn't mean I don't want to be a team player. Though, this video may have helped me decide to at least accept squad invites more often.

Im on ps4 and I estimate im about 20 hours to 40 hours in. Im getting better, but still not that great. Ive decided to go for the betelguese, only because it will force me to become a better player. I love your videos dude im so happy you still post. Would you recommend auraxiuming one weapon at a time, or complete the amount of kills for directives on each weapon?

Take your time with one weapon if you are focusing a specific weapon type (so lmgs). If you are going for overall directives, just focus on a couple at a time and fit your weapons to the situation as demanded instead of making your situation fit your weapon. And don't keep track of the kills constantly, just play your sessions and progress will happen :)

I like to stick with one weapon until I complete the Auraxium. Each weapon has its own recoil characteristics that you get better and better at. Jumping between a lot of weapons means you end up having to micro relearn each weapon again. Working on one weapon for 1160 kills I find I perform the best with it. Sure there are different weapons for each class. But I stick to the one weapon for each class till I Auraxium it. That being said, I do have different load-outs. My infiltrator has a stalker load-out, sniper load-out, and SMG loadout.

I've put 10-20 hours into the game, and though I haven't joined an outfit yet, my best memories so far have been storming a base with three or four medics and tons of infantry, so I do know what you mean about the drastic change of feel for the game based on that alone

simply way to get good in planetside2 guys ask ALOT of questions if u see a guy killing infantry or blowing up tanks or wrecking pilots send them a friend request and be ffriends with them its as simple as that.

Well, the only thing I've learned from outfits is how to fight within a squad. Every single other thing I know after 4 years of playing I've learned by myself. This is surely the hardest way to learn the game, but struggle is what makes humans learn the fastest. Even through it is usualy painful.

not the leader but : the outfit brotherhood of tyr while normally terran republic has moved to the vs to help the population of the server under the tag of(and name) [btyv] of the vs side of emerald they are extreeeeeemmmmmeeeeellllllllly tactical but if your a new player it's fine just follow platoon leader and squad leader and you are golden :P maybe not for everyone but a squad in the format can do more then a platoon if it's a good combo. if your looking for tactical gameplay and a spec ops kind of style they are great!

Do you think the Skyguard will ever get rebuffed, or is it meant to be used in a small squadron of AA Light Tanks? I ask because, the other night, I tried taking out a Libby and I can't tell if the SG had been further debuffed, the libby further buffed, or if I should not have tried to take it on solo. XD

By it self, the skyguard will take a sustained amount of time to bring a lib down, bring two however, and the balance QUICKLY falls to the AA side's favour in time to kill. Any more and - anything - that is enemy air is simply dust after being hit from close to mid range. Don't bother trying to kill stuff at long range unless you want to really keep the away, let aircraft close the gap so that when they do try to retreat, it is too late!

Liberators can have three players in it. a Skyguard can only have one. So if you are going up against a liberator it should sort of feel like 3v1. You aren't meant to be able to take one on alone. I think the skyguard and the lib are in pretty good place right now.
