I could never understand why this song was never released as a single and why the album 'too hot to sleep', arguably their finest album, tanked. The drumming, the guitaring, Jimi's vocals, the production, every song, every beat, the melodies, the passion. All A1. It only proves that what's popular is not always good as what's good is not always popular.

Too Hot to Sleep did not have the usual Survivor-vibe and yearning. Overall, a straightforward riff-driven hard rock album. But for what it was, it was a hard rock masterpiece that should have been a hit. What a shame !!

This song and Across the Miles are killer. Maybe there was one other song I like, I forget. I found it by far the worst of the Jamison-era Survivor albums. I like having rocking guitars as much as anyone (Eye of the Tiger album is great), but the songs weren't overall as melodic and catchy as the other 2 albums IMO. Jimi is in my top 5 singers ever.

Robert, i think marketing and money have lots to do with it. Push to play in outlets and radio stations was long and needed lots of ground work. Record companies would of favoured other bands as well. But hey those days are gone. The internet anyone can be a star. As with so many other bands and singers. This band would of smashed it if the internet was around then. At least we can now enjoy them here thank goodness

@@sluga_u_hristu Jimi didn't do drugs or drink . I met him after a show in 2010 and he was as sober as could be . A really nice guy ... We had a drink at the bar and talked music for a while ... I heard he occasionally took some meds to calm him down a bit but no real drugs .. In any case a huge loss ... every time I listen to one of his albums I'm still amazed by his voice.

I think it was unfair that this song was never released as a single. To me, it was the best song on this album...and I loved the whole album. This eulogy to Jimi reminds me of my first-ever viewing of them live, which also happens to be the first-ever concert I paid to attend; it was at Lafayette, Louisiana, in October or November of 2000 (there were concerts at Disney World for Grad-Nite '84, but they were part of the whole package my school sprang for; I didn't pay for tickets to those). At the end of the concert, when I was leaving, somebody walked up to me and complimented me for giving such an impressive show. 😂 That's right, some drunk fan actually mistook me for Jimi Jamison!

He was the best and so incredibly cute! And I loved how the whole team worked together. I saw them at Great Adventure in New Jersey way back in the 80s. I wish I had a video of that concert. I remember getting tickets to Bryan Adams as they toured with him for a bit, but they skyrocketed and they got their own top billing. Saw some other not so good starter band instead. Fast forward to 2013 and I’m walking through EPCOT with my family and Survivor is performing with BOTH lead singers. I watched a few songs and was in heaven because I finally got to see them. RIP Jimi.
