The 80's were great and music was still hanging on, but video really did kill the radio star. The 90's were good, Grunge, etc. but by that time sampling was accepted. I think the two things that really killed GREAT or even GOOD music was sampling and auto-tune. Also, electric tuners. Remember tuning forks?

@@xnomadx5686 Don’t get too sanctimonious on telling people what the lyrics of this song mean. Because the 2 men who wrote it (Eric Bazillian & Rob Hyman) don’t even know. This from Wikipedia- Eric Bazilian told the Chicago Tribune in 1985 that he didn't know the meaning of the song despite having written it. "People ask us what it's about ... the weird thing is we didn't consciously put [the heavy stuff] there."[2] Hyman later told Songfacts that the biblical images, including Moses and Noah, were not part of any agenda, though some radio stations refused to play it. "I love songs like that, you just listen and every time you hear it you kind of wonder what's going on."

Extremely talented musicians from song writing to live performances. Plenty of great songs, almost none is weak: This song "All you Zombies", "Satellite", "Johnny B.", "Karla with a K", "One Way Home", "Give the Music back"....and many more.. They also wrote "Time after Time" for Cindy Lauper and "One of Us" for Joan Osborne. Lots of bands would be happy to have one of these songs, The Hooters have tons of great songs. Eric is in 2022 69 and Rob 72!!! Still great rocking!

❤️ Holy Moses met the Pharaoh Yeah, he tried to set him straight Looked him in the eye, "Let my people go!" Holy Moses on the mountain High above the golden calf Went to get the Ten Commandments Yeah, he's just gonna break 'em in half! All you zombies hide your faces, All you people in the street, All you sittin' in high places, The pieces gonna fall on you No one ever spoke to Noah, They all laughed at him instead Workin' on his ark, Workin' all by himself Only Noah saw it comin', Forty days and forty nights, Took his sons and daughters with him, Yeah, they were the Israelites! All you zombies hide your faces, All you people in the street, All you sittin' in high places, The rain's gonna fall on you Holy Father, what's the matter? Where have all your children gone? Sittin' in the dark, Livin' all by themselves, You don't have to hide anymore! All you zombies show your faces, All you people in the street, All you sittin' in high places, The pieces gonna fall on you! All you zombies show your faces, (I see you out there!) All you people in the street, (Let's see you!) All you sittin in high places, It's all gonna fall on you

Got ask to go to see TheHooters in 1985 in Springfield Il. They opened up for Loverboy. Listened to their music on radio, just didn't know what to expect. Got 11th row on the main floor and got to see two bands that sounded exactly like their albums. No added or left out words, beat count right on, no extra rifts just like it sounded on the radio. All I can say is we sang and we danced and we were loving every minute of it!

@lillywright2227 Amen. This is my belief too. Jesus said as a prophet that when he will return it will be exactly like in the days of Noah. There will come the judgement day and it will come soon because the wickedness is as strong as never before. We believers who learned to regret our sins and to believe in the unfailing compassionate love of our shepherd and Lord Jesus the Christ we will be raptured on that day and will be full of joy and will shine like the stars because we will be in the presence of God the heavenly father and Jesus whilst we will see with our own eyes that the rest of humans stay in the darkness and will go down together with all wicked. This will be a sad day for the unbelievers but for us believers it will be the beginning of endless joy, love and peace. It will be the day the human race desperately is waiting for thousands of years. I know where I will be on that day. Halelujah dear heavenly father, halelujah Jesus. I can't thank you enough and will forever praise you for my salvation.

Holy shit. I remember hearing this song as a kid and waiting for it to play on the radio! But I could never figure out the title or the band that performed it. All I could do was scribble down the few phrases I could make out and hope it'd play again. It was the melody of the song I enjoyed a lot. I still appreciate the melody and guitar work, even after 20+ years have passed for me. Even more, I finally know the artists! XD Today's kids have it easy - ya'll just open up an app nowadays to know the song's title and band. I envy ya'll lol. XD

Me too! I was only 2 when it came out, but I used to hear it on the radio a lot as a kid. And you're correct, kids have it so easy today. I remember watching MTV & VH1(way back when they used to actually play music) w/my "boom box" and a cassette on record. My kids are 15 & 19yrs old, and they have no idea how different the world really was in the 80's & 90's. It was a hell of a lot better then now, IMHO. I still can't believe I'm 40...I used to think that was SO OLD back then, lol 👵💀🤣 But yeah, this song was telling back then, I think it's even truer to what's going on over the last two yrs. The v@x and the boosters are going to usher in the NWO, even though it's nothing more than the OWO (old world order).

I remember hearing this song probably 1984, at a friends house being played really loud......and I thought it sounded with such sentiment and mysterious feeling to it....that it just grabbed my soul at once.... The problem was, I didn't know who played it, and the only other time I heard it, was on a bus, and I could not hear the name of the band .... 39 Years later, I come to youtube and while I was playing "And we danced", a suggestion was there and not really looking I pressed the tumb, and went on to make my coffe.... As soon as I heard the Synth intro.....I froze....the song that I have looked for so long....and haunted me....was all of a sudden, there, being played loud again.... I tore... I have some memories with it, and I had no idea, The Hooters, the band that played one of my favorite songs....played this Beauty also.... Not fair....but I guess I have found it.

Love the meaning of this song. Very social. Taking biblical themes and shining the spotlight on social issues.i take this song very personally. It cautions the 'high and mighty' in their 'high places' to not take themselves to seriously (pride goes before a fall) and it lifts up the lowly, humble, meek every man one the street.

+rowdymax1 Hmm. Too bad you know nothing of US history. The only thing our founding fathers hated worse than monarchy was corporations. The Boston Tea Party? Not so much a rebellion against England as it was a rebellion against a corporation--the East India Company. All the tea was theirs. "No taxation without representation?" it was about corporations having enough influence to have Parliament enact a law--the Tea tax--while the colonies had no vote at all. the "anti 1 percenters" were a lot more patriotic than I imagine you are. The US only granted 7 corporate charters in the first 15 years of our country. That's how much they were despised. Then came Manifest Destiny. and as for 'poopy pants?" You're right wing hero Ted Nugent wore the same pants for 30 days and then pooped in them so he could avoid the draft. And molested young girls. Sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think your stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
