Good to see the Cards! A comment back in the 70's from my Dad was " They're a lot better than you think they are". Never forgot it, and tried to keep track ever since.

Thanks for the upload! My wife and I flew from Louisiana for the game. On the Roy Green penalty play, I watched in horror as the big-eared, Cardinal hating Jerry Markbreit, let the laundry fly. He was one of the Cardinals worst enemy for several years.

Cowboys looked to be in pretty good shape after this game and then totally blew it against the 0-11 Bills the following week. Ugh.

BTW Richard, do you have 1989 week 16 Bears@49ers? Or 1989 week 13 49ers@Falcons? It's the only two games I'm missing from the 49ers 1989 season. Just out of curiosity, are there any long lost games you're searching for? Maybe I have them.

This was the year the Cardinals were on the rise, but faltered the next year. Roy Green was a great receiver who languished in St.Louis/Phoenix his entire career. Sucks.

Their rise from oblivion actually began the 2nd half of the 1981 season, when they were in Wild Card contention into week 14. 1982 saw a playoff appearance, and in 83 they finished strong, but a half game out. 1984 should have at least been a Wild Card year. But this loss to Dallas was part of sickening 3 game losing streak where they shanked more FG attempts, and turned the ball over like they were handing out Tic Tacs... 🤷 In 85 the Cards started 3-1, but spiraled out of control to a horrid 5-11 finish, ending the Coach Hanifan era...
