Thanks for the comments and compliments. It was a fun day in the studio to be sure. I was given complete freedom to sing every harmony I could dream up...time permitting, that is. I think after we played it, I was given an hour or 90 minutes to go nuts with it. Oh, definitely not an effort to outdo anyone, but to pay homage to them for a great song. I was given some options for the CD (Juxtamusician), and this was IT for me. We may start playing it live in my set...which we've never done!

I used to sing this in my first band in the original key and all, but I was still a teenager then. It's not an easy song to sing and you completely nailed it. This is now my favorite version second only to the Beach Boys' (and lest that sound like faint praise, a lot of great artists gave this song a go throughout the years...a lot.) I always loved playing your solo work and the cocaine drain album's songs for people and watch their "who is this and how are they not a household name?" reactions to your talent. You're one of a kind. ♥

Graciously energetic talent. She always seemed to have that ability to steal your heart with her personality when she was young and now as an adult, an enhanced version. I would love to see her perform live with her band and also see her with her brothers and family. She is most certainty underrated as a musician and a song writer!

Wonderful! This being sung by someone who was a part of the music scene in the 1960's, who's band at the time often sounded very much like the Beach Boys, and who likely admired this song greatly as a young girl, really gives the performance a great depth and sentiment.
