There are SO many layers to Love. Most marriages don’t have multi-level Love. I love my ex but definitely was real but I needed more layers. He wasn’t interested in going deeper or growing. 😢

I’m going to leave my commentary here for those who may find it useful. When someone carries red flags, I don’t believe they are ever truly hidden, but many people are just blind to them. They either choose not to see them, aren’t wise enough to recognize them, haven’t done the proper investigative work to unveil them, or simply don’t have the power to walk away from the warning signs. Although I don’t believe red flags are ever truly hidden, I do believe that those whom carry red flags often try to conceal them as best as they can; and often suspiciously. If someone claims you yourself carry red flags, but all you have ever done was showed up with green flags, they themselves are the ones concealing their own red flags, and it won’t be long before they start waving them. It’s part of the covert narcissist playbook and they will point to you as the one who supplied the red flags they were already carrying; which they are now ferociously and desperately waving. What I just described is a form of gaslighting and projection, a false flags operation and diversionary tactic; and in magic, this is an illusionary trick commonly known as a misdirection: ‘Hey! Look over there! *Alakazaam!* Voila! See? You’re the problem!’

I am hoping, in the future, Susan could make one about people playing the victim card. No one talks about these subjects with the balanced, nuanced and informed approach as she does.

I agree with you on many points, but it is not that easy to judge a (potential) partner the right way. There are many factors coming together. Sometimes partners move into a different direction after years, have a change of values or a shift in their needs and behaviors, new triggers or traumas, and you also have to be honest and human enough to give space for development and growth for your partner and yourself, too. We cannot control the decision making of others. And a lot of our perception is based on coincidents. So... yeah, open your eyes and try to see your opposite the way he/she is, but don't be too judgemental and harsh on yourself either.

@@hippetyhop8084 Agreed. My commentary is coming more from a place of dating and getting to know new people, not necessarily those you already know well and are on a different level with. Although I do think the points I raised can also be kept in mind and useful with longer term partners, as well.
