To all the queries here in the comment section about Hemant sir. Let me tell you all the things that I know. I am one of his students from DPS. On a side note Salute to Police School toli. In the true DCop's lingo, 'la police toli shamel', here I go, -Associate Prof at TU till 1986 -Founding Principal of BSAM (From 1986 to 1998-99) -Principal of DPS-DCops from 1999-2012 -Was a member of the National Badminton team in the Asian games of 1965 -Served a short tenure at U of Michigan as a visiting scholar -Was conferred as a honorary colonel of the Nepal army for his long service as an educator. -Bonus information-many of his pupils from the old days have gone on to remarkably well for themselves. The currently serving chief of NA is a former student of Hemant sir.

He isn't saying the wrong things about Khas and Thakuri. He only says that in their family they are regarded as descendants of kunwars of Rajasthan. But, as per full proof evidence he says Ahiram Kunwar (Prithvi Narayan Shah ko time ) Dekhi matra their history starts. Tyo bhanda agadi ko evidence chaina bhani rako cha. He is only speaking what he knows and things he has researched. Sabai kura black and white hundaina . Don't spread the hatred.

shahs were local people (khas,magar or other hill ethnicities) who could take over the throne. it was more like a title that became hereditary. same with castes like kunwar/kanwar, rai/raya, subba, dewan, pradhan, malla, adhikari, bisht etc. they were once titles in north indian states and people in the hills just copied those surnames to sound elite simple as that

Hey bro, I appreciate your way of questioning, but (don't mind if I am wrong) you have to study deeper about the history of Nepal. It would have been better if you had asked this man about different assassinations (38 and 42 year's Prava), how Junga Bahadur Rana's sons were murdered and how this man's great grandfathers took control of the nation etc. I am a student of history and want different perspectives, he never mentioned about how his one of the great grandfathers, Gehendra Shumsher was eliminated by Chandra Shumsher from the ruling dynasty.
