Was there 3 years ago and it was fantastic. I was told it was just as good if not better than Jiro's place. Jiro's place you're done in 40 minutes but at Sho Masa it was a 2-hour experience. Highly recommend.

What i love about your channel is you give very natural and sober reactions to everything rather than the overacted foodgasms some of the bigger "travel for food" guys have. Also you give more detailed and knowledgeable commentary. Keep it up!

@@AnimefantasyCN 10000%, well worth the money and experience. Incredible sake pairings and the sushi apprentice spoke English to provide excellent descriptions of the food. I still remember the monkfish liver, otoro and shrimp to this day

Looks amazing. His precision looks better than Jiro IMO. I've watched the Jiro doc probably 20 times, and all the vids on KZbin about Jiro. It would have been awesome to get the whole meal no doubt. I cook about 5 nights a week and my knife skills haven't changed. I should probably work on that.

Yum! Have you ever travelled to Seattle? We have amazing seafood here. I live about 25 miles south of Penn Cove, where they grow superb mussels, clams, and oysters. Dungeness crab is available all the time. Right now I think it's about $8 or 9 per pound at the local Safeway. And if course there's the Pike Place Market. Seriously, you need to come check it out!

I was there two years ago. For me it was completly perfect. He served us over 40 pieces of Sushi and Sashimi. I think 45. We sat there for 3 hours. Bill was like yours something around 300 Dollar without alkohol, but it was worth that price without any doubt. Highlights were the 4 different Uni, fresh and never frozen Ikura and the Anago.

@danielfreihaut23782 жыл бұрын
@@user-wp9mb5yq5e To me it was worth every single yen. I mean you don't eat for 300 Dollar per person very often, even if you are rich. So you kind of pay for the experience too. The meal lastet 3 hours and there were as many chefs as customers. In our case 6. So one staff member for one customer. That has its price paired with the high class ingredients. I don't know any other high class Sushi Restaurant that serves you until you say stop. I think I had 44 pieces. They are smaller than in other Sushi Restaurants so you can try more. Next time in Tokyo I will come back to this place if it still exists then. If you have the chance I would highly recommend you to go.

Hi Matt, hope that even though this is an old video that you'll somehow chance upon this comment. I managed to secure a reservation for Sushisho Masa, and I was wondering if I could contact you for tips on how to get to his restaurant (and not mistake it for another disciple's XD) along with any dos and don'ts while my friend and I dine there. Thanks in advance, and keep up the great work on your videos :)

The next time you're in San Diego, please do a review of Sushi Ota and/or Himitsu. I think they're easily the best traditional sushi in San Diego.

Ota... Inconsistent at best.. Heard good things about Himitsu.. sushi Tadokoro pretty solid as well as kokoro
@timjung6405 жыл бұрын
When I dine at Ota, I make sure to sit in front of Chef Ota-San when possible for consistency. I've noticed not all chefs deliver the same results. I haven't dined at Tadokoro yet, but I had omakase at Kokoro and was disappointed. It was still tasty but nowhere near as good as Ota-San's, even if Kokoro charges half the price!

Is there really a HUGE difference between real Wasabi and the horseradish kind? Can you please describe it?
@Duhfuqful5 жыл бұрын
Kaust Shroff real wasabi has a very mild burning/spicy/nasal clearing effect, and it has a very unique mellowy sweet flavor. It’s very hard to describe until you’ve tried it, but it’s a very unique condiment that is being used more often in non-Japanese restaurants given its versatility.
